Oh man can't wait, I was thinking about you and that micarta I made for you the other day.. nice to see it come to life!! Psypo is getting some too! Shh, don't tell him...
 
Holy crap, what a day, a big thunderstorm and snakes. I was looking for some paint out the back, and without even noticing it there was a 4 foot carpet python sitting on the box I was looking through (I didn't see it at first because of the shelving we have, I only saw it when he stuck his head out for a look). Lucky he was only a python, if it had been venomous I woulda grabbed my 9 and removed him of his head :D Funny thing is, I checked over the entire yard for snakes on Saturday and completely forgot about that area.

Oh well, snake catcher came and got him, he's going back to the state forest, but it's a shame 'cos he had beautiful skin that would have made a great insert for a sheath :)

After that we got a massive storm, with thunder, lightning and a torrential downpour, good times!
 
-6° right now, with a wind chill of -32°. Wonder what the wind chill will be when the temp drops to the projected -15°?

Just wanted to share these, A guy in Serbia makes these scales, these are his pictures. I think they look really cool and cant wait for my custom SAK scales. Mine will most likely be a burl wood on these like in the 2nd photo.

Those are cool ww. I wouldn't mind having a sak with nice scales, but I'm afraid they would be scratched to heck in a short time.

Yea that is possible, but looking over some of my wood scales on other knives they surprising dont have many scratches on the wood and none that really stand out. So hopefully these dont scratch extremely easy. Ill just have to find out LOL, i think they look really cool.

I like wood, so i already made a deal for these scales above, but there is also a guy that does custom SAKs here on the board and he makes scales that really look less scratch resistant. Plus you can pick the tools you want. Eventually i will get one of these too. Then Ill have a custom Wenger and a custom Victorinox :D

Yeah I know, but I was trying to do a whole bunch of things at once and didn't get a chance. I had to keep my eye on the snake because the catcher was already on the way, and if you call them out and they don't find it they still charge you.
 
So when your battoning kindling with a short knife. Watch out for the tip. Good news for you prac tac types the micarta still has great grip when covered in blood.

 
it was -14 on the front porch this morning.
when i tried to toss the dogs out so I could feed them breakfast, the malamute cried and ran for the bedroom.
so I called the boss to let her know I may not be in because of "frozen dogs" -- she agreed that was an acceptable excuse.
sun is now out, it's up to -2 on the porch.
Once this load of laundry is done, I'll probably put on work clothes and head to town.
 
Oops, Psyop! Did the with my Buck Vantage a couple months back, too.

I see you wear your watch like I do. I always break those little retaining bands.

Yeah I had a little ranger band from a road bike but it broke and I dont know where the rest of that tube is.
 
I'm thinking it may be a good time to rip out the gass fireplace insert that came with this house and get the chimney inspected so I can start using it with wood again.... Every time I see pictures of a nice fireplace it makes me want to go to the back and start a fire. Lucky for me... the ice storm we had has left a tone of downed trees around for some easy firewood gathering!
 
Just finished shoveling. What a bitch. Freakin' wind is cold, haha. Still at -8° here.
