Guns wouldn't be an issue at all just as long as everyone was extremely careful (which I'm positive they would be), we love 'em but we're all pretty strict on safety measures. When we were talking about it dad didn't seem opposed to it, just not really sold on it. Maybe by the time fall or spring rolls around again I'll have him convinced. I'll tell him what you said about everyone, might help a bit. ;) :D

I gave Nobs his birthday pat and he grunted his thanks. :D

I always wanted one of those, but never found a good deal on a real one. I've had a couple of the newer imported ones, and the lock always breaks sooner rather than later. I can live without the 90* angle feature, and I modded mine a bit to make the head easier to remove for storage in a pack...

Then, because I just can't leave well enough alone, I used a standard shovel handle to make a sturdy hollow-handled survivally walking stick to go with it...

JT, I should have a BK15 by Monday. I'm going to Fredericksburg this weekend, so even if I have it before the weekend I probably shouldn't take it because I'm not sure of the laws there and I'm gonna be at a Marine Corps sponsored half-marathon that my mom's running so I don't want to take a chance on it getting confiscated by security or anything.. So, the EDC thing is probably going to begin on Monday.

I've given up on it being any sort of physical exercise at all for this very reason. Now even the exercise in frustration and the exercise in futility are distant memories.....

I've debated becoming a completely celibate monk with how often I get that kinda exercise.....Ive even stopped my exercise routine because looking better doesn't help or hinder my chances lol. Id rather be fat and happy then fit and frustrated!

I'll join ya with a drink when i get home tonight, then head out to the garage after the kids go to bed....
 
I was out fishing last night and hooked what felt to be a decent fish in an area no one fishes. Well the darn thing swam into some submerged bushes and got all tangled up. I flipped my bail open hoping it would swim out, but it didn't. I didn't want to just leave it hung up there and it didn't seem to be very deep, so I took off my boots, socks, and jeans and headed out. It was deeper than I thought.........I ended up about chest deep and sank in about a foot every time I took a step. I managed to get the line untangled from the bush, but it was still stuck on something and I couldn't get it out. I ended up cutting the line and hoping it could work its way loose.

The ice just came off the lake less than a month ago. It was, umm...............FREAKING COLD!!!!! I was very happy that I had a fresh shirt and underwear in my pickup. I got changed and warmed up a bit and fished another hour until dark.

Out fishing by yourself, you do this? Not a wise move... You could have really gotten yourself hurt or dead. Here in Florida, that decent fish could have been a gator, and 8 hours after you walked out there, you would have been a lump of gator turds on the bottom of the lake. I guess no one would able to say you wouldn't amount to shit, though.

Seriously though, you should be careful. We wouldn't want anything to happen to you.

Luckily we don't have any gators here. ;). There's not anything else around that could really hurt me in the water either. I'd be more worried about a rogue mountain lion or coyote than being in the water. I really didn't even think I would be in water much over my knees, but the bottom was pretty soft and the water was a little deeper than expected.

Ha! I was waiting for that. Shrinkage was definitely present. It wasn't quite skinny dipping.......still had shirt and underwear on.
