Need or Want.

I _ _ _ _ some tweener micarta.

I _ _ _ _ to trim my nose hairs.

I _ _ _ _ some wood tweener scales.

I _ _ _ _ to go fishing.

Spent a couple hours cleaning my work area and putting up tools, nice to see it all clean again..... Haven't seen it that way in a while LOL

Saturday is mine and the wife's 10 year anniversary... The wife's and I's? The wife and i? The wife and I's? me's and her's????

Anyway... Saturday is our 10 year anniversary. First we planned to go camping, then the wife's job and the "supposed" weather put a stop to that... Now it saying its not suppose to rain this weekend, and the wife managed to get Saturday off... So maybe camping might still be an option... But if not we may just go walk down by a river and grill or something. We dont have a babysitter so options are limited.... We decided to really celebrate our 10 years once we get moved, grandparents can watch the kids and we can go out for an entire weekend. But we still want to do something Saturday... We shall see.

Need all the above.

I have no idea what we're doing for ours :D I told the wife to book us a couples Thai massage

On the plus side, the father in-law stopped by last night. Asked if he could park his motor home in our driveway for the summer. Condition being, we could use it whenever we wanted :D Its the only way to get the wife outdoors so it looks like I have some weekends to plan!

That's exactly how those sad stories about about someone finding a skeleton 6 months later often start...

Lol. I guess I never even second guessed doing it. I've done a lot of duck hunting and being in water like that doesn't bother me. I'm usually in chest waders when I'm that deep though, and lots of times by myself.

Need for all 4, especially the last one. Have fun if you get to go camping!

I'm already looking forward to the weekend. It looks like it's going to be a rainy one, but I'd like to get a decent hike in sometime. Maybe go and bum around one of the nearby lakes with lunch, a growler and a few glasses.

What else do I want to do..... I want to get my BK17 to a razor and touch up any other edges that need it. I want to come up with a way to carry my Trailbum BK10 Kydex sheath. REI is having a big sale and my boots are literally falling apart. Oh! And I plan to chop my old POS phone in half with the Swabbie. My replacement should arrive today.

Sounds like lots to do Jerry! I've got a few blades that I need to touch up, but just keep putting it off because I have lots that are sharp. What kind of boots are you looking for? I usually go for a 8" leather lace up boot from Redwings or Dannner, but the last pair I bought were Keen Durand's. They are a 6" hiking boot and have been pretty darn comfy. I'm hoping they last a long while.

Its raining here right now and its looking like rain for the weekend too. We really needed some moisture, so its nice to be getting a good amount.

Congratulations WW! Happy 10yr anniversary brother! I hope you and your lovely wife do get to go camping. Whilst many would disagree, I think there is a certain romanticism to camping. Put the sprats to bed and cuddle up next to the camp fire and watch the 'poor man's tele' together. I really like hearing about friends that have love, trust and mutual appreciation for each other in their marriage. Hey it'll be fun for the kids too. Kids seem to love getting outdoors. Plus you'll have wee little slaves to do all the camp chores! Mwahahaha!
"Start that fire!"
"Clean those pots!"
"Skin and eviscerate that small elk I just caught! Yes, you'll have to kill it too!"
Hehe. Hope you have a great time brother!
Oh, and it's good to see that someone else has first world grammar problems as well!

HAHA!! Thanks bud!

We love camping... wife, kids and all. I agree about it being romantic too, but the wife would say when it comes to being romantic, i lack knowledge in the word entirely... But she says I make up for that by.... Wait.... i cant say that here  :D

The weatherman is back saying its gunna be a rainy weekend so im not sure yet what will happen. But ill be getting some camping in at least one more time before the move regardless.

Oh! And I plan to chop my old POS phone in half with the Swabbie. My replacement should arrive today.

Them phones are pretty tough. I did this last July.

I don't have anything too specific in mind. I'm replacing an old pair of Wolverine hiking boots that started falling apart almost immediately after I bought them. The store made it right with me AND let me keep the boots since they were going to have to destroy them anyways. Aside from where they immediately started to peel apart, they have held up well enough and were comfortable enough to use for a little while..... OK, I'll confess that I decided to see how long I could drag out the life of my 'free' boots, but there is only so much superglue a shoe can handle.

Do not buy Wolverine brand hiking boots.... Even if they're on sale.

I'm going to shoot for something along the lines of the Keens or some Merrells. I've kicked around getting the Merrell Ventilators and noticed that they are going to be on sale for less than $100. It all depends on how they feel through. I want a new pair of decent leather boots too, but my old Carolinas still have a bit of life left in them since I'm not wearing them every day anymore.

Damn.... I miss wearing boots to work and doing stuff.

My phone has barely survived two years with me. It seems like a tough enough phone, but the "kevlar" back is detached from the back of the phone which causes it to loose power and shut off occasionally. The glass still doesn't have a scratch to be found on it though, but I still believe the Swabbie will be up to the task.

I have wanted some Keen Newport H2 sandals for quite a while. I hear it feels like your walking on boobies with them... But ~100 for sandals.... Yea... I have only ever once spent 100 on full shoes, and that was right after getting a check for several thousand dollars.... I have spent over 100 on boots as well, but only a couple times.... but around 100 for sandals??? 130 if i want to pick my colors?? I just cant do it.

Happy anniversary, to you and your wife, WW.

Thank you very much brother, hope you are doing well my friend!

Im sure the swabbie can handle it, but id recommend cutting through it the way i did there, less thickness to go through spread over a larger area on the blade. I also recommend first taking out the battery (i didnt, didnt make a mess but maybe it could??) . That glass is tough, and can easily ruin an edge. I used a large 3V knife at 60hrc, but you could still see where the edge chopped through the phone, and i wont be doing that again unless im using a knife i dont care about too much LMAO

Wait, it's been 10 years since you clipped your nose hairs!?

snark

Happy Anniversary, WW!

HAHA, i wouldnt have a beard then.... Id have a nose-stache going down to my belly LOL

Thanks man!

That's funny, I actually met Mr. Keen in Newport at some function. He's a local inventor/entrepreneur, though I think he's no longer directly involved with the shoe operation. I have a pair of their slightly ventilated mid-ankle steel toes, and they are EXCELLENT boots. I wear 'em on the ship.

Yeah, glass is wicked hard. I'd remove it before chopping, but you did make a great picture! Smashing it with a hammer might be the way to go. Or disintegrating it with a grinder. :D

(please please remove the battery and wear safety glasses)

I love it! You guys crack me up with the practical advise on chopping or cutting a phone in half as well as the common sense safety suggestions after I vented about my POS phone. It's almost like you folks think that there are impressionable youngsters here who would get the wrong ideas from my bad ideas.... :D

Hold on......

I hear women like nose-staches.

Well, never mind.... Carry on, gents. :foot:

Could flick it like an old asian man with a fu manchu.
Happy anniversary. And I think you got it right the first time. If substituting "I" instead of "my wife and I" makes it sound weird, it's wrong. But then again, I studied math because I don't understand english.

I'm guessing you didn't make it to prom this year.

Guys, seriously, I know what I'm doing. Why are y'all so worried?

The keen newports are nice. Not $100 nice though. I found mine for a good deal. Check out the Teva Dozer sandals. I like them much better. My current ones have lasted forever. The look like hell right now but they feel great!
