Congrats WW! I bet ur brains about to explode with all the new ideas and such! Glad ur going to be able to execute them soon.

Thanks bud!!

And yep... lots of ideas flowing. First things first though...

Imma get back to the woods ya see.... The woman, and the kids, and the dog, and me..... :D

Party at WW's!

Definitely... Bring booze, blades, bud, bullets, and beards.... And then clear your calendar, this party wont be kid friendly :D

well, maybe. i put a whole hour on it today ;)

.

1 hour? where's the fun in that?

You know the break in period is more of a suggestion than a rule right? ... Like not hanging your kids up by the ankles when they are bad.... Or having only one wife... Just suggestions :p

So i guess i tried quoting too many messages or something... It wouldnt let that last post go through with this one...

Then again... The forum may just be allergic to James  :D

Out. Freaking. Standing! I'm very happy for you, brother. I'm glad to see you and your wife and kids getting out of that city neighborhood where you obviously just weren't comfortable. It takes HUGE brass balls/ovaries and a boat-load of hard work to pick it all up and try something different to build a better, more peaceful, more productive life for your family, and I wish you all the very best. Nothin' but respect.

There's nothing else like putting your family's name on a chunk of land, no matter how humble or fancy. And even if you don't get settled in for a few weeks, there's still plenty of time to get a small garden plot ready and grow a bit of "winter" veggies down there once the deep summer heat passes... and plan a spot for your dog... and places for the kids to play... it's a continuing process that never really ends. That's some addictive but healthy stuff right there :)

Thank you very much brother!!

Its very exciting... At the same time there is a huge amount of stress buried in there as well. lots to be done, stuff costs money... Money takes time. This is the biggest investment of my life. Smartest too though.

And man... So excited to have room to have a garden again. It's going to be weird going from NO room to plant anything outside to having enough room to plant anything i want. My sister's husband, that lives right next door, has maters, peppers, corn and such growing now.

Ill be putting in some raised beds and bringing in a few pear trees to start as well... We love pears, and they do pretty well in that Florida sand.... After some time... No telling what all ill try growing. I have always enjoyed trying to grow things people said wouldnt grow well in the given conditions... So im positive ill be trying to grow some crazy stuff in due time. Mixed in with the stuff that grow well there of course.

Its gunna be fun... Work too.

Pears in florida?... Ehhh not so much. They do okay in Northern Florida, and a couple of varieties are somewhat okay in northern central Florida, where you are gonna be. But if you are in southern central... It's risky. UF ag put out a PDF on it. Anything South of Gainesville to Orlando, like where I am, near Tampa, and South is not so good.

Where im going to be they do pretty good actually. I know of several people with pear trees. We use to ride our horses right up to the trees and share a few pears with our horses. A guy right down the road had several for well over a decade, that i know of, producing fruit.. and he never even fertilized or watered them. In fact he died several years back and the trees are still sitting there growing fine.

Another family has/had at least 6 pear trees, and prolly 10 persimmon trees, that i knew of all growing right beside each other... At least they did 15 years ago or so when i knew them... They grew fine as well and that was less than a few miles from my property.

Im only going to be about 20 miles southwest of Gainesville... But it seems they do OK there. Maybe not the perfect location for them, but they do seem to grow fruit if you care for them even a little.

To summarize, where im going to be pears seem to grow fine. South of there i couldnt say. One of the reasons i picked pear trees is because i grew up eating off of pear trees growing right around there.

People also say oranges dont grow north of "put name here".... But i have personally known many people with backyard orange trees all the way up to Jacksonville. Ill be trying a few oranges in time as well.

Never thought about using this ingredient..

1 of tractor time and 1 odd hour of digging and schlepping and then cleanup and it was buying full dark

Only big break in point is: maximum revs are not allowed for first 50 hrs...

Sitting on the front lawn, kids playing down the street. Indulging in a pipe, nursing two fingers :(

Took the tips off my thumb and first finger playing with a knife after sharpening. At least I didn't feel it happen! Derp.

What with people nowadays. I'm on a FB group for Spyderco and a guy got a version of a knife that is worth over twice of the one he paid for. He says he's keeping it and no mention of letting them know.

Karma. It'll come back around.

Honesty seems more and more to be a 'relative and situational' term. It was instilled in me early on that it was an absolute. You either are, or you aren't.

Nailed it with this.... either you are or you aren't. There is no middle ground.

UPS mail innovations is not innovative.

And it sucks.

That is all.

what's he supposed to do then?

Id say letting them know he got the wrong knife would be a good start. I bet if he got a cheaper knife he'd let them know real quick.

Now... i dont believe you are either honest or your not. Sometimes lying is just unavoidable, or necessary. When my wife asks me if i like the baked fish she made... I want to say HELL NO... But instead i say "Its not that bad, but honestly i prefer your "insert anything"

Half truth and 3 quarters a lie. But better than the full spoken truth.

When your kids ask you about santa.....

When the in-laws ask ANYTHING...

When you ate the last piece of bacon and you know it was suppose to be for "insert name here"

There are certain times a lie is OK in my opinion. But id consider what he is doing with that knife stealing. He knows he didnt buy it, but is keeping it... I bet he makes mistakes.. Im betting karma will make sure one of his future mistakes cost the difference in them knives.... Plus.

insert anything here

that's what she said
