Norfleet took my money

Sorry Esav......I was burned by this guy over a year ago before all this started. I only got on here to share my experiences. There were no bad reports about Gil when I ordered my knife, whether you believe it or not, I did check up on him. So, instead of trying to help out other knife lovers, I can see that you don't like those of us that haven't paid. So, this will be my last post here. Seems this forum is only for the elite. Excuse the h*** out of me for trashing up your forum. Goodbye to all.......Ron

If you are going to take anything you read here that personally, ... grow a skin or move on. We have said time and again, no one needs a paid membership to enjoy Bladeforums. On the other hand, complaints that the Search isn't available to non-paying members get tired after a while, too. (Hint: you aren't the only one in on this conversation.)

The very purpose of me starting this thread was to warn those thinking of buying from Norfleet that they may be in for a long and bumpy ride. -- To make it easier for potential buyers to search and see a problem. I am not happy with the fact that I was cheated and have been lied to, but I have collected long enough to know that things like this are unfortunately " part of doing business ". I consider the lesson learned as wisdom paid for at a high price. I feel it is the best way to help my fellow forumites who are thinking of buying. For those of you who imply that an exhaustive search before I bought from this seller may have made a difference, it’s a great idea but in this case not really helpful.

However, if enough of us post the bad transactions in this forum, the problem will be immediately evident to those who do search before they buy. Buyer beware!

It would be nice to see Gil use an intermediary - someone that could confirm to the buyer that the knife was completed and in hand, or to hold the money from the buyer until the knife was completed or for a specified amount of time, after which the money would be automatically returned.

It really does look like Gilbert has decided to write off Bladeforums. What he is doing right now is not going to be good for him as a knifemaker. He really needs to man up and take care of business.

I apologize to every whom I have affected. I was getting better but I didn't follow doctors orders and went to the shop to work because of all you great folks on the forums and I got sick again. They want me to go to a nursing home to recuperate but I won't go. I am working on everyone's knives and no matter how long it takes I will get everyone's knives done and no one will get taken. I will make all things right. I can't elaborate anymore as I just don't feel up to typing anymore, I got to get back to the shop.

i know many people are really annoyed, but i sometimes think that things like this do more harm than good, people know about the situation now, so rather than escalate it exponentially would it not be good to give mr Norfleet a month or so to sort himself out? Treat this more as a final warning than as a trial by forum?

Nathan, stick around a while and you will see. This is not a unique situation, and giving it time will find the situation NOT sorting itself out. We are infortunately familiar with this type of problem.

Even accepting that Mr. Norfleet is serious, we aren't hurting him by this ongoing discussion as much as the delays, lack of communication, and uncertainty have hurt his customers.

Also, as long as it had gone on, people did NOT know about the situation until this current thread went exponential.

Gilbert, I hope you do manage to get things straightened out. You need to stop selling completed knives that aren't really completed.

That makes him a liar in his business dealings. Being sick has nothing to do with purporting knives were ready and will ship 10-13 and they STILL have not shipped.

That now makes him a bonafide scammer in my book. Taking money for knives and not sending the knives to the buyers makes him a member in the Corkum,Reif, etc. knifemaker club.........

Ditto that Keith , he is not only hurting himself with deceitful advertisement but many others also .

the answer is soooo simple .

Maybe Gilbert should post the reasons why he cannot deliver completed knives, cannot maintain contact, and cannot refund for orders he probably will never fill.
Just saying "it's my health" does not excuse this. Maybe those in the dark who you have money from are owed an honest and specific reasons for all this and why this is "bad Business" and not THEFT.

I think the confirmation means he has printed a label. It doesn't mean the labels went on boxes that went into the mail yet, although it's a positive sign. We shoul get real (good) news in a few days.

I have not received anything. At one time I was sent a shipping notification but nothing was really sent. I noticed that a buyer for a knife offered on October 14th posted he received a "USPS tracking number". This is on a knife posted for sale 41/2 months after I paid for mine. If this really is the case, it is interesteing to see the order priority in which knives are being shipped.

I guess we will soon see if any knives are truely being shipped.

I'm in the same boat as ksjumpmd. Got the shipping notification but that was months ago and nothing has shown up.

FWIW theses things rarely get sorted out so easily.

dont get me wrong, i hope it does, but usually once things start going to crap they continue to do so without drastic measures.

seems like this has been going on a while & it hasnt started sorting itself out yet.

but hopefully norfleet will prove me wrong.

It really sucks when people pull crap like this..
I had a similar thing happen last year on another forum.
2 things come to mind: Internet Fraud and Theft by Deception.....
I'm definetely not a lawyer but those two things got my situation handled very quickly.

I hope all that have paid and are waiting, actually get their knives or money back.
