NorthEast Beckerhead 2016 Spring Gathering

Just put in for a couple days off so I can laze my way up there friday and recover on Monday. Really looking forward to it. I so need to spend a couple nights in the woods. Planning on bringing a big pork loin for one of the dinners and, of course, I'll have beer. A little far off yet for specifics, but I figure this thread needs a little TLC.

Yes, indeedy. Coupled with a BK5 for slicing, there ain't much better. I will say the one you made at the last Spring Gathering was a mite superior to the one I made at the Fall event. That rub was killer. More people at trailbum's meant NO leftovers for breakfast, though :(.
 
I am not promising anything, but I am going to try to arrange a little BK9 cutting "competition" to bring along to the gathering...just for fun. Nothing crazy, mind-but a little somethin'.
 
Family friendlyish ? I will literally Day of be coming home from a three day work conference that Friday afternoon, so I will be wanting some family time, but It has also been too long since I got to a Beckerhead gathering.
Whats the stituation with Bathrooms ? I might be able to talk the girls into going if there is some kind of bathrooms ..lol

Always family friendly - though my girls won't be with me this time around. As far as the "facilities", IDK. This will be the first time at this location, though I suspect there is at the very least a privy/pit toilet... though it's hard to tell from the website: http://slimbaker.org/index. I looked at the aerial view and I'm guessing there is an enclosed pit toilet, which would be standard at this sort of location in the state. You can contact trailbum (or maybe he'll chime in here) for anything you might like to know. Hope to see you and your family there. FYI, I'll be bringing a 10-12 lb. pork loin for dinner Saturday night ;).

2 flush toilets in the cabin.

Looking like Saturday, maybe overnight through to Sunday for me if I can talk the girls into the overnight. Friday sadly I fly in from my conference at like midnight...lol

I'm bringing a big ole pork loin...and some potatoes and onions. Should do us for Saturday night, at least. You coming up Friday (at a reasonable dinner hour....wink, wink)? Those'd be good Friday night.

We are still 3 weeks out, but I want to get a head count for who will be staying all weekend and who is only coming up Saturday. Trying to figure out how much food to buy. Getting excited now. I was excited before but now I'm getting really excited. Fire danger is high. I hope we will be able to have a fire. Here is a pic of the inside of the cabin.

It has 2 bathrooms 1 shower.
 
Me and the two kids, and I'm bringing bubba burgers and dogs should cover Friday night (being I get there before midnight) and Saturday lunch
 
I'll be there Friday solo - except for if a giant pork loin counts as a second person. So unless anyone objects, I've got Saturday dinner covered. Looking forward to meeting you, Thorny.

and wait, whut!?! A shower?!? And flush toilets? It's almost like it'll be civilized or something.....though I did notice the sink has no fixtures. JK....really looking forward to it. Any time spent in the woods, away from home, is time very well spent.
