Northwoods 15?

Certainly not a deal breaker, Drew. Honestly doesn't matter to me whether the half stop is flush. Although to get one and they all to be flush was surprising. I only own a few from GEC that have that.

You are right Perry. Regardless I love this knife and have already made it "mine". I have received more then one strange look as I hold it up to the sun to catch the ivory strata.. my oldest daughter just shakes her head at this point lol

Singin50, if you are actually wanting input on this: "Now, do I buy the Ivory or wait to see those blacks when they show? ", i say get the ivory while you can. Good quality ivory(which these have) really adds to any knife and moves it up to another level. A good knife becomes a knife that will be kept and passed on to another family member. And, i cannot see anyone being disappointed with an ivory #15 because the ivory being used is truly as good as it gets.
If you do want a black bone one i think these will be easier to pick up on the secondary market than an ivory one.

Joe, thoughts to contemplate for sure. Just waiting to see those blacks when they land first!

Just in case you wanted to see the ivory and the oiled camel bone side-by-side:

Great comparison shot! That's what I figured the Ivory would look like next to the undyed camel.

Ivory is one of those, "Must experience" handle material. There really isn't anything like it.

^ Me too Perry...plus I can't have an Ivory shipped to me anyhow (restrictions in NYS).

With the undyed bone, I'm really interested to see what this knife looks like after carrying and using it for a while. My oiled bone Fremont was close to this undyed color but by the time I decided to sell it, it had already started to darken and a lot of character came out of it. And that was almost all handling use, not actually cutting use.

Doesn't living in NYS suck, Jake. We can't have anything cool. can't even have ten rounds in our guns.

Beautiful hues - honey, amber, tan. Is it old ivory?

It took my Stamascus about 10 years to yellow like that with regular mineral oil baths.

I have to agree with Derrick. Though ivory is a little more than my pocketbook can justify, and thus I don't own any, it is something that has to be touched to appreciate.

Says who hahaha. It's not illegal if you don't get caught.

I'll get an ivory knife someday but I'll just have to go through a secondary channel. Can't blame a dealer for not being able to ship here. But yes...living in NYS does suck sometimes.

What is preban Ivory? I'm going to assume it had to have been in the States for a certain amount of time??

Just got my blue one - fantastic.
F&F perfect. At least a 6 for blade pull, couldn't pinch open until I got some of the oil off the blade, had to use the nick. It has a very nice loud talk, about like my Case/Bose Coffin Jack.

The bone is better than the pics. Fairly sharp.
Smaller than I was expecting, just perfect for me.

Thanks Derrik!

And speaking of BLUE. I just got mine in. I think it looks pretty good.
