Northwoods 15?

Thanks all; however, it was really 'luck of the draw'.
Really thinking about the black bone, as well.

The blacks have not Jon. When they do I might be in for one more! TX, these knives aren't even noticed in the pocket. I have been carrying and using my undyed camel for several days and today carried the blue.

I am too, the dye has these looking more like something you would have as a custom knife, IMO. Yours looks great on both sides, congrats on you new beautiful blue! Mine has better snap now that I was able to clean some gunk out of the joints. I even lowered the kick, ever so slightly to set the blade a bit further in the frame. What a great idea for a #15, Derrick. Thanks for having these made up!
Seriously thinking of getting the black now!

Would you post a picture of the knife you lowered the kick on? Thanks!

Sure, here's the blue with the lowered kick. As I said, just a tiny bit lower now. Basically took only the tip off. A very little bit does make a big difference! Be very careful not to go too far with this! Maybe only take 3 or 4 swipes with a hand held metal file then check for progress.

Thanks Perry. Did the backspring drop at all in the closed position? I know you only lowered it was touch, but I want to be careful of that on mine.

No, like I said go very slow. This is a very easy but costly adjustment, if you go too far.

Heres a better shot, Rodeo!

Fantastic pic, Perry.
Is the one above that shows the lowered kick after you did it?

Does that make the blade close a little farther? I'm asking because if so mine closes farther than that already, the bottom of the 'D' is flush with the handle; the 'N', 'R' and 'H' 'tails' are below. And the last 'S' is buried deeper.

thanks

I noticed in your pictures that your blade and was already sitting much lower than others.

Thank you Chuck! Yes, this picture was taken today. Mine rests now just barely or not even a 1/16 lower if that. Sounds like yours is lowered at a good place.

Thanks Perry.
To be clear - mine came this way, so I guess this is a by-hand thing at GEC, each a little different?

Apologies, this is a new thing to me, had to look up 'kick' (blushes).

Tried another pic to show this better, this is about what I see looking slightly down on it.
And when closed, the end of the blade is about 1/16 inch inside the cutout, where it curves into the handle.

Seeing these blues pop up make me want to track down my mailman. Tracking hasn't updated since the 9th and it still shows it in Portland and it was expected yesterday, ordered it in on the 5th. Kinda nervous to order a Humphrey due to it.

Anyways...

Perry that is a beauty buddy!

Yeah Chuck, well within the realm of what you would want. These are all done by hand and so every knife might be a bit different in where the blade rests. I say this believing that GEC does always strive for a consistant appearance.

Sometimes the post office is a little frustrating.

Thanks a bunch, Brett! I'm sure yours will show up very soon and I look forward to seeing it.
