Northwoods 15?

Thanks guys, it's what I thought was gonna happen with the red. Oh well! I'm ok with it. I know someone will appreciate it and that's what matters. I'm sure I'll end up with another at some point when I keep looking at your guys' pics of them!

Here's the red that I sold. It was nice and evenly dyed, just on the bright side for me. I liked the Old Red coloring that was on the 77 barlows as it was real dark. This was pretty red all the way throughout and it gets very vibrant in full sun.

My red saw cut matches my 77 quite well. I am surprised that yours was so bright.

Mine came today! Excellent fit/finish and walk/talk. Blade centered. Backspring flush at open/half-stop/closed. This is true of my other two Broadway Jacks, as well... but this one is my favorite by far.

Hard to capture the color/depth of the dyed camel bone, especially with the light I'm trying to shoot in, but here's a couple of pics.....

Hey Perry, I don't see smoke... I see storm clouds! This one is Stormy. So it is written, so it shall be. :D

Derrick, congratulations on yet another winning Northwoods pattern! Keep 'em coming!

Lol, I like that, Al! Stormy weather and smoke gets in your eyes. That's a couple of beautiful shots my friend! Looks like you've taken some tips from Jason at KSF. He takes some fine shots too. Props should only be used to enhance,,,,but I like props too much annnnd I have too many of them! :D

Would you mind taking some close ups?

Not at all. I'll try to get some posted up tomorrow.

ETA: In the meantime, here are the 3 Amigos from earlier today....

As close to custom as you will get in a factory production knife, IMHO.

Hey Jake, it works like this. All steel goes thru a heat treating process, to partly harden it and also test its strength. Now what Derrick does, or has GEC do, is leave this final process on the top part of the Northwoods blades. While easy enough to sand off if you want, it adds a more rustic look to the overall knife appearance. One of the first things I liked about what Derrick created in these Northwoods. I think Mr. Shirley would certainly approve of the design!

This thread moves fast! I almost missed the reply!

Thank you, Perry! It gives the knives a lot of character and just seems right for the Northwoods line. I hope it sticks for future runs.

hey everyone, thanks for all the kind words about this latest Northwoods release. We will continue to have amazing knives as long as you guys continue to say amazing things about them. :)

These 15 are indeed fantastic, great fit and finish as well as absolute centered when closed. Thanks for offering this pattern, and I hope you offer more covers in the future.

Derrick, the blue camel bone is in my pocket every day. Quality and rustic beauty in one package. It's amazing! Can't wait to see the next iterations of this pattern.

Centering of blades -- the angle I took was not the best, but all 3 are perfectly centered

Pictures (as magnified as they are) only tell part of the story, of course. In hand, these Broadway Jacks feel like.... well... like they cost a lot more than I paid!
