Northwoods Bear Lake

You keep your hands off my Steve! You have your own to touch! Seriously someone should clarify this or I will earn another infraction. :D

Stevedore? Northwoods take on a #15 Rope Knife or Longshoreman-type knife?

Wow, good guess on the name. If your guess is right I wonder if that has anything to do with the run of rope knives without bails popping up for sale in small numbers over the past few weeks?

Keep your Steve in your pocket where it belongs and all will be fine :)

With the info that cbr1000 provided about the 74's , I'll say another run of esky Zulu's and Steve is a play on esky.Having a hard time with anyone actually naming a knife Steve .

I'll tell you guys what 'Steve' means. It means Derrick is a great marketing salesperson. :)

A lot of just guessing here, but if you recall, they ended up short a couple hundred esky zulus because someone not commenting here said he didn't place the stag order. That would fit in with the 74 run, spear blade, and make up for the one's that didn't get done, and the silly code name. Also made some deer happy.

come'on Bob tell us what it is....stop fooling with us and give it up!!

LOL
Hahaha. You're about the third or fourth person to say that to me. I know as much as anyone else here. The only difference is, I'm not interested. It's not that I wouldn't mind a Northwoods, as they are well made like any other GEC. I just don't want to be held hostage at my computer waiting for something to be dropped and then the feeding frenzy begins. Several times in the past I was at the ready, picked out the one I wanted, but by the time I get to the checkout page, I get "insufficient inventory". Meaning I was not quick enough. That's not how I want to buy a knife.
This is not a knock on the retailer at all. That's the way he chooses to do business and it works out great for him. The run is all gone before it becomes inventory. Good for him, not for me. Derrick has found a way to quickly move his product and I applaud him for that.
So name it the Northwoods Bob if you want. I'm still not getting caught up in that. I hope others are able to get what they want though. :D

Couldn't agree more!

I'm fortune in that most northwoods don't appeal to me . Usually it's the really nice slab materials with the arrowhead shield. I would of bought a few if they had a different shield or none at all. The arrow shield seems "rustic " to me . I loved the scagels with exposed pin on the shield and hole pull. The northwoods feel a little more refined than the scagels . Last northwoods that I really like was the bullet . The only one I have is a clip Hawthorne . I'll be in trouble if they bring the scagels back.

I can't remember who it was, but they termed the process a "lolly scramble" - which to me has always sounded hilariously on the button :)

I remember someone using that phrase too Paul. I too found it quite funny. :D

Careful guys, "lolly scramble" was used by Tsar Bomba before he exploded.

I got into 25s too late and missed the train for the bullets, I'd love to get one of those someday. Although I must admit I was always a little put off by the northwoods text along the blade, though the blades themselves are quite nice with the forging scale.

He indulged in too much sugar maybe?
