Northwoods Michigan Jack

Awesome denim micarta!! I'm working some back channels furiously to try and score one. We'll see...

I feel lucky to have landed this one, because I seriously love the color in this stag. Lots of dark knarly char, bordered with deep caramel brown. I know this look won't please everyone, but I really like...

Joker, BEAUTIFUL STAG!!!

I have one arriving soon...hope it's half as nice as your beauty:cool::thumbup:

The Stag on these is very good and they have been well hafted. The result is that the outside surface of the Stag goes all the way to the bolster. Too often the Stag slabs are too thick and the top surface has to be cut down to the depth of the bolster. The result is the outside surface of the Stag ends short of the bolster and the off-white interior part of the Stag goes to the bolster.

I received my stag yesterday. I am very pleased with it. I actually like the "off white" interior of the stag to show near the bolsters because I like the color contrast.

I'm considering going POSTAL on USPS. They have been days off, shipped my knives to other parts, been late...first world problems: I want my new knives :grumpy:

Wow, that's gorgeous!

I agree, it was one thing I was specifically looking for when I was choosing one. Yours looks great!

I'm with you! My mailman delivers my mail every day by 10:30am except on the days i'm expecting a knife. Days like today, when I know my stag is just sitting in the back of a mail truck.

Erik and Erik,
That's what I love about stag is the character and rustic you never know how it's gonna be until it's in your hand. Both of yours are great looking. I like the thin knobby darkness of Jokers and I like the polished flatter stag if Eschwebach that sort of stag gets great stone like hues at the polish points. Then there's popcorn kernel stag... That's always my goal in looking for stag but hard to find great examples. All of these Michigan Jacks have look incredible. I soooo wanted to pull the trigger. I'm proud of myself for not busting out the plastic. Enjoy those knives guys. Maybe I can snag one down the road.

My Bloodwood showed Delivered! yesterday, but nothing in the box when I rushed there after work! Hoping it shows up today and didn't go to a neighbor...

First world problem: USPS tracking stinks.
First world problem: I'm slightly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of knives I bought.

JIC, those packages have doubles and are unopened. The opened ones came earlier this week.

It's a horrible feeling, I feel sorry for my knife all day, until it's freed from USPS.

The denim Micarta looks fine but does not do anything special for me like Mammoth, or bone might. Lots of people here obviously really like it, so i'm missing out by not liking it. Ivory Micarta, that does something for me. Now that real ivory seems to be a handle material of the past, we might see some GEC with fine old Westinghouse ivory Micarta ? Good that dealers read these threads because they might ask GEC about this.
Sorry, i diverged from Michigan Jack chat.

The Denim Micarta looks great, but it feels amazing. These aren't high polished, The handle feels like its made out of blue jeans. I'm going to EDC the crud outa this when it gets here monday.

Hi KSF, i was not intending to 'knock' the Denim Micarta. More that i am missing out on the excitement others are experiencing from this new handle material. From all the posts, most people here are most enthused about it. And, i got in my plug for Ivory Micarta which i like on fixed blades. Not sure how well it suits a pocket knife as the handles are smaller than a fixed blade. Won't know until i see it.

Today got better, knives, eclectic bourbon, and a new watch. I was cussing the sky this morning, now I'm overwhelmed. Bourbon and knife pairing...
