Not a One knife thread…but something like that

Glad to help out :) all three are quite nice, the Farley just has a grip on me, the contours of the handle fit my hand perfect.

I'll be the outlier (aka - that guy).
I've got several I have no intention of parting with - none of them are easily replaceable; but I'm at a point that I probably wouldn't try. I like to think I could make do with what I already have (I've got plenty of knives, many of which have been underappreciated).

I may not be great about selling stuff; but I'm at a point that I can resist buying more knives (that is, of course, subject to change in the future)

hhmoore hhmoore yep, a collection makes it super tuff to find the favourite child in the bunch, it's a tough question in such a case.

It's not that I can't pick my favorites...I have a fixed blade that has won the spot on my belt. I have a modern folder that I have carried almost exclusively for over a year, and I have a traditional that I pocket almost as regularly as that.
The premise of this thread went beyond which would one keep above all others, so I didn't bother making that distinction.
You asked which knife would we not only keep forever; but which we would also replace if it was lost. THAT is where my problem occurs. If any of those three were damaged/broken, I would reach out to their respective makers for repair/replacement...but, if they were lost, I would not go to any great lengths to replace them (none are regular production items, per se).
I have knives that I carry rarely, or not at all, that I treasure highly...but any replacement I could find would fall short, as it would lack the sentimental attachment.

I'm just at a point that I don't see me investing the effort, or spending the money, on replacing a hard to come by knife. (This is a relatively recent development, btw; which is why I acknowledged that my feelings on this could change)

Yah, a different scenario altogether and some wisdom thrown in for good measure, comes with age no doubt :) hopefully I'll get there one day, for now I have been trying to 'trim' my collection down so I go through a LOT of knives, sometimes repeating the lesson, which always makes me feel oh so smart lol

I’d also replace my case trapper and case jumbo stockman if lost. Both are SS, I think I’d go carbon on the stockman. The trapper is yellow Delrin, believe I’d stick to that. The stockman is black stained bone stag. I think I’d like something else.... not sure yet.

Leatherman original. I keep a spare for just in case.

Swiss Army knife, I have a tinker but I don’t know I’d replace it with that model. I’m eyeing an alox tinker or the version that is sans awl and Phillips. Not sure the name and I’m too tired to go looking.

I need a folder in my everyday life that can be dropped without a cringe. Or put in a pocket with a pair of channel locks. Or used to make a spear point for my kid so he can huck the spear across the yard so it sticks in the grass.

Something that does not 'fling' open that scares the ladies, opens slow and smooth. The more it gets used the better it looks, as the scales get smoother while the washers break in.

CRK Inkosi.

Not a single one of them.

Despite my love affair with my old Benchmade Leopard Cub - that broke several years ago - what's done is done & what's gone is gone.
My current "darling" is a Leek. Nice knife, but, if the worst happens, it will be yet another g
Leeks open too easily in pocket but very useful blade shape.

IF my final instructions/wishes are followed/granted, these (and a couple others) will be on me when they close and lock the lid just before planting me 6 under. (a few other things will be in the box with me, as well.)

The Toferner neck knife will take the place of a tie. 😁👍
The Evo Grip 14 might be replaced by a Huntsman or Evo Grip 17, but only if I splurge and order one between now and then.

I haven't decided which Buck 110, stockman, and other pocket knives I'm taking with me ... or which fountain pens, ballpoints, glass dip pen, and inks. I'm pretty sure which archery bows, blowgun, slingshot, muzzleloaders (along with everything to shoot them) I'm taking with me. 😁 (I "need" to make a quill pen ...)
If I get dug up in however many thousands of years I want to make the archeologist say "WHAT THE FU**?!? (or whatever the terminology is in that time) 😁

You are going to have one helluva viking burial: You won't have a grave, you'll have a burial MOUND!

I didn't have to think long on this question: it's my Police 4 in K390. It's really a moot point since I ordered a spare a month or two after receiving my first. I know these have gone in-and-out of production before so I bought myself a little insurance in case supply dries up. Now I carry and use it as needed without having to worry about losing or breaking it.

My trusty Spyderco Cat. This has been in my right pocket for years, and I would replace it in a flash if I lost it. It's the perfect size for my needs and feels just right in my hand. I usually carry a traditional in my left pocket, but that one gets swapped out every few days. Some of those would get replaced immediately if lost, but this is 'the one'.
