Not bad for less than $10!

What am I, invisible? ;) (Just kiddin'. :p)

Oops! Sorry Blues, I must have scrolled or paged right past your response. Now I feel bad about sending Absintheur that $100 "helpers reward". Maybe he can send you $50 and then we'll be all squared up.

To all you guys that have me so ramped up about buying $10 Chinese knves, you ought to be life insurance salesmen (if you aren't already).

Aw shucks, Tracker2, what the heck is money between friends? I'm glad you sent it to Absintheur. After he's finished rummaging through his boxes he can use the extra cash to fill in the gaps in his collection! ;) :p

Well...hasn't been anything since the Oldtimer Trapper in the boxes...more to look through this afternoon

Just got this one today. It's a whopping 4 1/4" and I love it. A lot of blade for the money:thumbup: Not to fond of the medium micarta stockman one though. Nothing wrong with it. I guess I'm not a fan of micarta, but it may prove for some good trade leverage in the future.

I plan on ordering more yeller ones tonight.

I can't believe I started a thread that has lasted this long! haha

I haven't bought anymore, but I'm still impressed with the orange stockman, I have to say the steel is very good for a pocket knife, not just for the money either! Seems to hold an edge quite well, better than some bigger names that I want mention:D

I caught the tail end of the Knives Live webcast last night. They had the newest RR on for just a few seconds. A red jigged bone Scout. Anyone order one? I may have to pick one up if they're back Friday.
I noticed it was not in the new catalog, but I did notice a new Remington. Since we now know, or at least think we know the Rough Rider and Remington or made in the same factory, I thought it wouldn't be much of a stretch posting it here. It is also less than $10.

I am still looking for the red jigged bone scout / utility knife though.

Update/5/6/08 SOLD OUT That didn't take long.

After reading this thread I had to buy a couple and I ordered a small toothpick and a mini muskrat in red jigged bone last friday and I gotta say not bad for chinese...now I'm gonna go back a flick my Godfather some more, nothing like QUALITY American made goods!

I just received a red bone gunstock, trapper, copperhead and cokebottle that I bought because of this thread. They are great knives especially the gunstock and trapper but red bone is turning my hands red, is this unusual?

Not as bright as your cells are going to be after using these glow in the pocket colors all the while being exposed to China's cancer causing agent chemicals and so forth, as recently reported in the news. :D
Well at first I dismissed Silverdagger's comment, but he may have a point. I have never had a knife with with the dye come off. Even Chinese knvies from years ago, or Pakistain knives. That is highly unusual to say the least. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I bought the large red handeled stockman at a gun show on sunday and it bled off a little the first day but cleared up completely.great knife for the money, sharp, walks and talks and handles fit perfectly.

I am officially addicted. After I used my Large Stockman today at work, I came home and ordered a Sowbelly with horn scales and another Large stockman in brown jigged bone.

What happened to that guy that only liked synthetic scales on his slipjoints? ;)

What guy?;) I still love my synthetic scales. I make sure all my knives get the same, equal attention.

Who can resist for $7.50 a piece.

I did take my RR large stockman to a Case dealer today to compare it with a Case Long Tail C Lrg. Stockman. The dealer was a little upset at first that I would compare a china made knife to his hallowed Case. Then we compared them. As far as fit and finish goes I'd say they were both equal. Size was all the same on the blades and everything. The dealer proceeded to feel the edge out on the RR and said, "Not all them are bad" referring to China made knives.

The bright side may be that Case will (hopefully) take notice of knives of good quality being offered at a very low price point.

Of course with Case being the Big Dog, it's gonna take a lot to make them sit up and take notice unless they feel that such knives are impacting their bottom line which may take some doing.

If a vendor has some of these on hand at the Blade Show, maybe I'll check one out to see what they look like for myself.

I don't believe RR knives will ever impact the Case bottom line.

Case knives are collectable, collectable because they aren't cheap and therefore more difficult to obtain. If something is inexpensive, it has very little value. I know that sounds stupid but I don't make the "rules" folks. :)

The only thing I can see from Case noticing the quality of the product of China is to speed along the eventual moving of production of Case knives to offshore locations where labor is cheaper.
