Not bad for less than $10!

kiahs, your knives look pretty good. I am a little bummed you got the same order twice. Maybe it makes sense, ordering in two different orders. Shipping is free and you get a nylon sheath free with every order.

I'm fine with the doubles. It gives me the opportunity to dual wield the Deer Slayers like I'm the world's most traditional ninja :D.

Seriously though, it lets me see the differences among identical patterns.

For example, the red Deer Slayer has "Always Ready" with the horseshoe printed on one side of the blade. "China" printed small on the other. It has a horseshoe tang stamp on one side and "440 Razor Sharp Steel" stamp on the other side.

The brown DS has the Anvil printed on one side of the blade and "440 razor sharp steel" printed on the other side. It has "China" printed on one side of the tang, and "Rough Rider" stamped on the other.

That's a lot of differences for identical knives and lends credence to the theory that different scales may mean different factories.

Not as bright as your cells are going to be after using these glow in the pocket colors all the while being exposed to China's cancer causing agent chemicals and so forth, as recently reported in the news. :D

yada-yada-yada....

whatever....why is trashing China the popular sport today?

There may be legitimate reasons for calling into question a variety of issues involving China...

...BUT, this sub-forum is not the place for it. Let's keep it on topic folks and keep the political and social commentary to the appropriate forums so that we don't have to close threads or take any other action.

Thanks!

I also like every order comes with just traditional patterns. No high tech folders. I must admit I may be on the brink of ordering agian.

They also have "trader roll" grab bags 12pc/$50 and 24pc/100 with a vinyl roll, which is still pretty close to $4/knife, but they are 1st quality, and include lockblades/tacticals (were one so inclined).

I've been wasting waaayyy too much time looking at these babies at SMNW. But my birthday is coming up and I'm supposed to pick out a few to "round out" my birthday. Talk about pressure, lol.

Did you try waxmanknifeworks.com? They have a large selection for good prices. Last I checked I believe their prices beat SMKW.

FYI Waxmanknifeworks.com has a bunch of new knives; the Marlin Spikes, some blue and pink bone handles and some other interesting odds and ends. Sadly no Scout Knife though.

Does anybody know an online dealer with the RR Loveless style fixed blade? Does anyone have one? It looks really nice.

Just ordered a RR Yellow Large Stockman and a Micarta Medium Stockman. I let you guys know how they fair.

I just posted a 'first impressions' review of this RR razor jack over on the review and testing forum.

Well last night I watched the knife show from Smokey Mountain last night and ordered one of the scout/utility camp knives in jigged amber bone. I am looking forward to comparing it to the other various knives of this pattern I own. I have gotten away from carrying this pattern since I haven't been spending much time in the woods of late. While a month long walk about isn't in the plans for this summer I am intending on a couple of long weekends spent on the trail.

I didn't watch the show last night, let us know how the knife is. I notice that they are getting losts of interesting things on the show, that are not on the inter-net. They might have 20 Bulldogs or 17 Case of a pattern I have not seen. Plus they quit talking politics like the first guy did many years ago.

Do they charge you shipping on your orders and can you put 3 or 4 knives in one order. My concern with that show is if you get that one scout/utility knife for $12.99 and they charge you say $7 in shipping, it is now a $20 knife. I am just curious, since they tend to have interesting off the beaten path things like Robeson, Queen, Schatt & Morgan, etc. all not in the catalog or at a slight discount.

That odd crescent shaped tio functions as a sort of old school "wave" feature, allowing the blade to be opened one handed by hooking the tip on one's pocket. In a pinch, it works OK, but it requires some deliberate attention lest one's clothing gets sliced up.
