Does anybody here watch Nutnfancys videos? Is anybody else as turned off by them as I am? I mean, hes got good info, in most cases he knows what he's talking about but I just can't stand listening and watching him. Thoughts? Commesnts? Opinions? Any reccomendatons for other video-makers?

... then don't listen and watch him. duh?

I'll second that motion sir. It's not like you are being force fed.

I think his reviews are considerably better than the other garbage you find on the 'tube'. I just like the idea of being able to see videos (his and others) on knives that I'm thinking about buying. Take all of them with a grain of salt.

I don't watch any of those knife "review" videos, they all annoy me in one way or another.

Like the other guy said, don't watch them.

I agree word for word. I find all video reviews annoying.

One vid/review on the streamlight pro led me to purchase one a couple months ago.
I can't squawk too much about something that did give me good information and provided me with a good tool that has become EDC for me.
Like the guy said..."then don't watch"!

From his 5.11 Shot show visit I just learned that my 5.11 pants have slots for knee pads.

whats with people telling me not to watch him...im not retarded...i dont watch him. I simply wanted some opinions and to discuss something. Realy. your pathetic

I stopped watching after he called the Lahar a tactical knife about 30 times in a minute. He is a non expert giving a expert opinion that some seem to follow like a cult.

While I do not sit around and watch all his videos the 3 or 5 I have seen are pretty good considering the price I paid.

Why don't you simply make better ones yourself? Then nutnfancy can post up his opinions about yours here?

ive watched his stuff, dont really have an opinion on them. i watch youtube videos when im in the market for a blade and want to see different angles or shots "in the hand". sometimes you just cant tell much from dealers still shots.

I'm not a big fan and he can be annoying at times but I do respect the fact that he is doing them and giving usable information. I have at times viewed his videos for info regarding something I am interested in.:)

Some of his videos are pretty good, while others were not, it just depends on what he is talking about. I don't agree with some of the things he has said in his videos, but I don't judge him or complain about it etc.

No I don't watch them all, but most of what I have seen isn't bad. :)

I am making my own videos, mostly they will be in the field using the knives so there won't be too much extra talking or rambling etc.

I also keep them short, under 5 mins so they don't get boring. ;)

I've thought about this quite a bit. :o

Most of his reviews are really only cursory looks at the given item. His knowledge of knives, guns and multi-tools is fair but not nearly advanced enough to actually pack a 30 minute video with useful information. He often comes off as immature and abrasive in many of his presentations

But for all his faults, he is really one of the best there is right now. Did anyone else post extremely in-depth SHOT videos? Are there other reviewers posting videos that are as clear and well-presented as his? He's like our own version of documentary-style reality television. Entertaining at the core but with an acceptable about of useful/interesting information.

He really needs to solicit some art direction from his fanbase. His videos often fall prey to too much camera movement and not enough interaction with the subject item as well as too much talking. As it is I find him a very valuable resource to our community that needs to develop a slightly more professional style as well as better knowledge of his subjects.

*The above really only applies to his reviews and SHOT videos, I have no desire to watch most of his "philosophy" pieces and have no idea what they're about.

I like him most of the time, take his opinions at face value. He does introduce me to new stuff, but then I am from Europe, where pretty soon laws will be introduced forcing us all to eat with plastic forks.
I like that he tries out most stuff he reviews, so at least he speaks from personal experience. He's also a decent shot, which gives him credit.

In Holland, there's very little if any community. So basically I can try to discover and figure stuff out myself, or I can add the input of reviewers like nutnfancy to what little info I have.
I choose the latter.

I like his knife videos. He introduced me to some great models like the Spyderco Caly 3 and the Benchmade 940.

I find it interesting some here will say that video reviews are annoying yet give no clue whatsoever as to what aspect or aspects they actually have the problem with.

So what is it?

I myself don't like video reviews because they usually give some or alot of unneeded info, are amatuerish, and can get boring; most of this being a function of the level of egoism of the reviewer ie; the more ego, the less I like the review [in most cases].
