Not Impressed...

Nutnfancy sometimes gives good info. Sometimes he is a bit off, and sometimes just plain wrong.

One of the problems with him is that he has gained a bit of a following. Sometimes when he is wrong, it can actually affect a company, if that company is small. I haven't watched a knife review, just firearms.

On the negatives to him, he takes 50 minutes to cover 8 minutes of material, he sounds like a 40 year old version of spiccoli, and while he reiterates the sames things from each video and says its just his opinion, he does everything he can to inflate the value of his opinion. Watching a man that says he has 20ish years in the military and that he is a lieutenant colonel interview Rob Leatham was one of the most amazing mismatches in maturity I have seen. Sometimes he is wrong or uninformed on some aspects about what he covers.

On the positive sides, he gives a good look at the firearm, generally covers most of the things you would want to know, creates interest in firearms, and gets access to a lot of stuff.

I watched some of his videos. He states what works for him. I don`t watch his videos anymore.

His videos usually give a good impression of what the knife is like. However, I just kinda roll my eyes when he starts talking about the tactical crap... If you can get passed that, I think you won't find the videos half bad.

I don't agree with him on everything, but I think he does decent reviews. For those of you who think his videos are too long, do you watch Cutlerylover's? I think he does a worse job of making a 2-minute video into a 10-minute one. Not that I don't like his videos; I do.

He has said he can't sharpen, so he kinda lost a few respect points there lol

I like him most of the time, take his opinions at face value. He does introduce me to new stuff, but then I am from Europe, where pretty soon laws will be introduced forcing us all to eat with plastic forks.
I like that he tries out most stuff he reviews, so at least he speaks from personal experience. He's also a decent shot, which gives him credit.

In Holland, there's very little if any community. So basically I can try to discover and figure stuff out myself, or I can add the input of reviewers like nutnfancy to what little info I have.
I choose the latter.

You can still stab with a fork, so that means your getting spoons.

I will on occasion watch some of his vids, but if you took out the BS and fluff, I think that you would end up with a 2 minute video.

Then there is his repetitive use of the term 'Dude', which I find most annoying. Speaking as an old vet, am I the only one that finds his claim of being a Lt.Colonel a bit incongruous?

He reviews a wide variety of gear. He reviews knives, guns, lights, backpacking gear, hiking gear, tactical gear, first aid supplies etc. I'm sure experts in anyone of those fields can find issues with his reviews but overall I think his videos are pretty informative. He can get long winded but I enjoy his vids.

the only reviewer I really like on youtube is BLUNTTRUTH but he is missing in action lately. I hope he returns one day to do more knife reviews, very cool guy and down to earth.

His reviews have been pretty beneficial for me in that he gives a pretty good luck at the items he reviews. It's actually helped me make some fairly informed decisions when buying (or not buying) something.

I agree with the annoying "dude-speak" however....thank god for the mute button. It's really grating to hear a "Bill & Ted" accent coming from a 40-something reviewing 'tactical' items on the internet.

They're stupid as well as authoritarian and meddlesome. The spoons (cardboard ones of course) will follow once a cabinet member manages to stab himself with the plastic fork.

If I am thinking about whether to buy a knife or not I'll check you tube for videos. If there is too much waffle I'll download the video and watch it with my normal player (usually VLC) and fastforward the waffle. These reviewers are all amateurs giving their opinions - take what they say with a grain of salt!

Blunt4truth is my favourite - seems better than nutnfancy or cutlerylover.

Nutn has some good info and a wide variety. So does Cutlerylover. Cutlerylover posts vids on things he likes and to express his hobbies. He posts what he likes and that's how he got a following. People are interested in his collecting. Bluntruth4u is awesome. He really takes a knife and puts it to the test. Although he does sharpen all of his knives to his liking before tests...so from factory results would probably differ.

My only problem with BUNTTRUTH4U is he only looks at the negative, but he is honest. (and his voice sounds depressing)
