Nice original "gum fuddy" and a newer pair of rough black canoes. The main difference I see is in the past Case's jigging pattern was continuous and on most modern patterns it just seems to hit the central section. Here's a pair of rough black, aka Gum Fuddy, Case knives from the the XX era. Fantastic pair of "black stag" (bone) Colts, James! After carrying and using this remarkable pair of Colts for the past few weeks I am quite enamored with them. Their build quality has exceeded all of my expectations and I found them to be completely satisfying and capable cutlery. This was a pleasant surprise and makes them to me, a notable pair.
