Notice!! A Black Jack!!

I did a thread on a blade-less knife once - but I cannot find it!!

I'm not sure if the scissors count as a blade (or if this Leatherman counts as a "knife"!), but here is another nonlocking unit without a blade/knife. I own several of these. Supposedly, you can travel on planes with them. Since folks like us (almost) always carry a knife-knife anyway, this multi-tool is a nice "bladeless" companion to our blades. ;)

I'm grateful for this thread as I saw it in time and got one pre-ordered! This one will make 4 "big jacks" for me on this new frame.

Unfortunately, I missed the window on this one as I was out in the woods for most of the week. I am looking forward to seeing these complete nonetheless, I think it is going to be quite a fine knife.

I thought I should show these comparison shots, in lieu of a "real" example of a Black Jack!!
I finally got an #86 (Sucker Rod, Oil Field Jack) into my coon-fingers for chicken-eyeing, and I gotta say, it's a nice big knife!!:)
This one has good springs, and nice fit; some will object to the slightly sunk handle rivets, but they don't bother me at all!! It's definitely a Big Brother to a Barlow!!
I was very used to the smaller-sized knife, but my arthritic old hands are going to enjoy this Big Boy!! The wide, gently tapered blade (0.1085" vs 0.0925 on the Barlow at the tangs) should slice well, so I will have to give a future report, once I give up on the minty-ness, and get into using it!

That looks like a hefty knife, Charlie! I will be looking forward to whichever ones I am able to land in the near future.

How is the W&T Charlie? Really hoping that we will get something solid enough for a knife of this size.

Someone called both blades 6s. I think, mine at least, are 7s!! Perfectly firm! Not nail-breakers, but solid, IMO!! I prefer 8s or 9s, but those are rare (old Remington 1123s). I think, if they are all like this one everyone should be happy!!:D
(But someone will come along weeping and gnashing their teeth!!)
Get a different knife I say to them!!:p:cool: I like this one!!:)

I got two of the oil sucker rod ones and they have distinctly different pulls, one being noticeably lighter than the other one but both were fine.

Well this does sound promising. Fingers crossed!

I got two GEC#86 Oil Field jack Oily Creek bone knives on the way. And a Blade Forum African-blackwood#86 , SFO Bloodwood #86 , and an #86 Charlie Black Jack on pre-order. My Seth Borries "Karen" 6" black hammered harpoon clip fixed blade in snakewood knife should be here tomorrow. Looks like November is going to be a great blade month for me.

If my #86 Pulls are over a 6 , I will be opening my knives with my feet and a Case blade pick. I did order a GEC tube popper/blade pick with the #86 Oily Creek bone knife I bought today. I am going to love my #86 knives.

I wish I had the artistic abilities of Barry (GunStockJack), but at least we will know what it is!!:)
