Notice!! A Black Jack!!

I don't have one of the Oil Field Jacks but I have heard that the main clip blade has a bit of a recurve to it. Will the Black Jack be using that same clip blade that is used on the Oil Field Jacks?

Just to clarify the information in this thread, the Black Jack will have the pen blade behind the main Clip! This will please some of you, and displease others I am sure!!
Some large antique jacks can have either, at random!
In a random poll of the few I have, pen blades are often on the mark side in Ulsters and on the pile side in Case, but not always in each!! I can only shrug at our forbears logic sometimes!!;)

My #93 Charlie SFO wavy rogers bone knife is in perfect condition. It is displayed on my spare bed with 170+ knives. My Oily Creek #93 Rams foot has patina from heavy use. Forced patina is for sissies. Go make a sandwich and be too lazy to clean the blade right away. This Charlie #86 knife is going to be a real joy for me. But I just know that my pre-order #86 oily creek bone is going to be my new heavy user. My GEC dealer is going to "cherry pick" one for me. I want the darkest oily creek bone with white edges. I want many more single GEC blade knives. But I have grown fondly of my GEC#44s , #92s , and now these #86s. I have not even received an #86 yet and I am fool for one. I will end up with 4 to 6 #86s in my collection. My custom 6" harpoon clip black hammered fixed blade (KAREN) snakewood knife will be finished up this month. I am tickled and blessed.

now no pen, that will make the difference!
lol. Jack my friend you crack me up with your single bladed mind! I too love to carry a single blade- but I have noticed that my collecting, edc carrying habits change dramatically over the years. considering Carrying a Scout- which I collect in a fairly serious way - yet dont carry one, soon eh?

Yea, it will make the knife useless:D:D
Lol - Nice one Augie- yeah dont hold back with this young fella, some times a good hiding is what they need!:D

:D:D:D only need one blade, no more, no less! well any less and its just handle
Basic truth there mu friend!

The pen behind is a sore disappointment for me, but I'm still down for one.
Jeff, matey hopefully with a few days carry - your love will really settle into that knife?

I tried Duncan, I almost put the 92 in my pocket but thought, it would be better as a single blade. old habits die hard my friend!

I can't go ahead and get the knife with the pen behind the main. I try them from time to time and end up giving away the knives I've had with 'wrong side' pen blades. A nice old Case, and an otherwise great Queen Barlow among the ones I couldn't love. To each his own eh! Too bad for me though because I like big knives, and English jacks too seem nearly always to have their secondaries on the pile side. :(

I will keep a smile on my face, ;) and carry on with my knife adventures, and I look forward to seeing photos, and hearing good things about this remarkable SFO! :)

Michael

This sounds like an interesting configuration and now that I'm getting used to 2-blades it would be a nice one to add. Standby for now so crossing my fingers. I wonder which we'll see first...the forum knife or Charlie's?

Good question!!
Mine will likely be the last ones made/assembled, but the BF knife depends on CK Mike's circumstances!!:(
