The family and I have been dealing with Hurricane Irma all day after it smacked us here in Puerto Rico today.

Island has gone totally dark and hearing that there is very extensive damage around the southern tip of the island.

We have another few hours before it has totally left our shores.

Any of you Hogs in Florida or any other locales that she will hit, prepare and get someplace safe if you can. She is one nasty storm. And take advantage of the fact that you can hop in a car and drive someplace to get away from it. All we can do on the island is hunker down in the house and wait it out.

Take care guys and be safe!

Good to hear it's almost past you. Hope all of you are ok. Be safe down there

Glad you and yours made it through the storm. We'll be hunkered down in Tampa, chanting our hopeful mantra ; "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

Stay safe man, that bitch is on her way to me as we speak...

Best of luck to you!!! Let's hope we keep seeing post from you!!!

After all if you have access to the internet how bad can it be???:eek:

Haha. My phone! Bought some backup batteries to keep it going through the storm. Things are worth their weight in gold to keep the kiddo entertained once the lights were gone and it got dark!!!

Stay safe. Prayers for you and everyone else schwacked, or about to be schwacked, by Irma.

There are now 3 active hurricanes in the Caribbean. That is insane!

Glad to hear you and your family are well despite the damage--hang in there! And to all you in her path, stay safe!

Crazy how strong these winds are. Have to keep the storm windows open in the house and it just blows the rain everywhere inside. On one hand it helps keep you cool, on the other, I worry about it damaging stuff.

We are finally on the back side of it. Not long now before the last bands move off shore

yeah dude those winds are insane, back in katrina it ripped my ac unit away from the side of the house and put it in the gun range...I considered having it installed back there for those summer days but it was pretty trashed. also had a 75ft pine tree punch its way in my attic so new roof, ceilings, insulation... but at least we were above the flood zone, just no power in middle of nowhere louisiana for 3 months with 200% humidity and 100F days + 9 million mosquitos

unfortunately some of my guns were at my uncles place who was flooded and came out like this: http://s40.photobucket.com/user/StealthCaliber/library/Rossi22?sort=2&page=1 before and after resto

luckliy most were hanging on gun racks above water level. but the win 30/30 and a few bolt action hunters were gone

I wish you the best in dealing with it. My daughter's family lives in a Tampa suburb and I'm hoping they will be alright. When I spoke with her yesterday she said that they were making plans for evacuating if necessary as well as other preps.
