Now Hurricane Maria!!!--Hurricane Irma-

yeah dude those winds are insane, back in katrina it ripped my ac unit away from the side of the house and put it in the gun range...I considered having it installed back there for those summer days but it was pretty trashed. also had a 75ft pine tree punch its way in my attic so new roof, ceilings, insulation... but at least we were above the flood zone, just no power in middle of nowhere louisiana for 3 months with 200% humidity and 100F days + 9 million mosquitos

unfortunately some of my guns were at my uncles place who was flooded and came out like this: http://s40.photobucket.com/user/StealthCaliber/library/Rossi22?sort=2&page=1 before and after resto

luckliy most were hanging on gun racks above water level. but the win 30/30 and a few bolt action hunters were gone

I know the feeling! It's not bad now, but I know the heat and humidity come tomorrow is gonna be rough! Even after being stationed here for a year, the heat here is just brutal and I'm from Texas! Maybe since all the houses are concrete it just reflects it that much more, but I can always feel it cooking me!

One thing here is we don't really have to worry about the flooding, it rains just about every day anyway, but the power is a different story. The power grid is about 40 years out dated (people running the power company embezzled the money instead of spending it to update the grid and have now filed bankruptcy!) and they are talking it being possible that it will be months without power in places! We lose power about once per day but not normally for long, but the whole island went dark for almost a week last year.

Have gas for my generator but only for about 36 hours of run time.

Adian, I'm glad you and your family are safe! Harvey, Irma and others are a good reminder to keep an emergency supply of things like food, water, batteries, flashlights, radio, a couple of knives and guns, and many other items.

I can't imagine what you guys are going through! We have bad fires, but smoke is tolerable, flooding and high winds aren't. Stay safe guys, its a bad year in the continental U.S. Lets make sure the hogs come back to another trough! I know that thoughts and prayers mean exactly squat, but I'm sending them anyway. If we could find some better local charities to donate to, that would be great! I'd definitely send some $$ if I knew for sure it'd go to the right people.

Thing about Puerto Rico, they are as bad as or worse than California on guns and it's almost impossible to get em. And if you do, you can't afford ammo. So I guess if any uninvited guests arrive I'll pop em with my Matthews Bow! Least the ammo is re useable

Yea, my family is all in Texas and they are talking about some of the charities only using a fraction of the donated money to help out

Glad you are safe and still there Adian.
stay safe, looks like another is coming.

You need a WTF or a moab should have the same effect on a burgler as seeing the barrel of a shotgun

I have a FFBM, a Gladius, an AK and the famous MOASS. Not to mention a Sasquatch. Or just use my bow

Luckily we live in a nice area where it's safe enough my neighbor leaves his Maserati and Polaris RZR sitting in front of his house. Figure if they don't mess with his stuff we are pretty good.

I'm right in Irma's direct path here on the west central Florida coast, she'll be here in 18 hours.

Thoughts and prayers are appreciated but if you really care to help, SEND ME AS MANY BLADES AS YOU CAN IM GOING TO NEED THEM ALL!!!1

I'm right there with you, just a little further inland. Best of luck to you, neighbor.
Lol! My thoughts, exactly. Kinda wish I had received my grab bags/1st Busse so I could use them to fight this 8!T(# of a storm off. If you hear some drunkard shooting at the wind, come have a drink!!o_O:confused:

Yeah I got my grab bag in time at least, which included a nice hefty hognose war sword that I can use instead of my G30 for whatever reason :)

The power grid for most of the US is at least 40 years out of date. 80% of our local power grid is the same stuff as when it was first ran. The power lines in front of my house are the original lines from when power was first ran here. They are almost bare wire. Looking for power outages widespread here tomorrow and Wednesday.
