Hey, what are your thoughts on nutnfancy from YouTube? Do you like him, hate him? I really like him, his reviews are really long but you get all the details but that's just my opinion, what's yours?

Seriously? Do a search. There are many posts regarding people's opinions of him. And they're just that, opinions. This is going to start another useless bickering thread.

In all honesty, he is an annoying mall ninja. That mall ninja-ness ruins anything he does, even if he comes across something substantive. He is partially responsible for the plague of "hard-use" knives.

If you want a good reviewer, watch Cutlerylover, Jdavis, Cliff Stamp, etc.

I would also recommend JDavis and Cutlerylover. There's none of that "dude" and "bro" speak on their channels. I guess that isn't the second or third kind of cool though.

he's just a nerd.

I watch some of his videos, my only complaint is he takes 40 minutes to give you about 10 mins worth of useful info. I prefer equip2endure for knife reviews in the field and knivestown and wealljuggleknives for table tops, but I still watch nutnfancy sometime

In all honesty, he has served our country, he's a pilot and he is an LEO, maybe a small measure of humility and or common sense could have... well, rather should have been used by you there.

What do I think? He's not my brand. Average shooter, rather opinionated when it comes to things that are truly trivial but all in all seems like a good dude. Sure, you'll catch people who dog him for being a nerd (See a few posts above) but he's comfortable in his own skin and he is himself 24/7. If YOU dig his reviews great man, keep on em, enjoy his stuff and support the dude in ways you desire. Don't feel the need to put a gap between yourself and things you dig because of the likes of some clowns.

Not everyone is up on their weapons platform, current into self defense, law enforcement etc and he reaches out to a large crowd of people.

I dig his stuff, because he is very thorough and detailed. And does not get sucked into useless trends. His frank review of the Sebenza being one of my favorites and probably why so many on here hate him.

In also.... the faces he makes are absolutely unreal!! BTW OP, we DO have a veeery long thread in W&C on this topic... enter W&C at your own peril.

I watch his videos and differ with him at times. Sure he may like the sound of his voice a little too much, but I like his style of reviews. I like how he takes his time and is not afraid to say what's on his mind

I do appreciate his military and law enforcement background, but I've been turned of f by thus aspect of his reviews too. Sometimes I just want to know if a knife is well made. So thanks for the recommendations.

Frankly, that review was so far off the mark, I could believe how it would push people away from watching the rest of his meaningless ramblings.

He has pretty clear and quality video of knives that he reviews. I found the optimal way to view his videos is to mute the sound and click about halfway into the video, which is about the time the knife actually appears in the video. Then FF to see a few different angles on the knife and perhaps an in hand size reference shot and then close out and return to bladeforums to read more informed reviews of the knife.

I like his reviews because it shows what he likes and he's bold about it. I don't agree with some of his things, but hey we're all entitled to our opinions. He loves lightweight knives, where I prefer to have a little more weight with my blades. We just have to remember about perspective. That's the biggest factor that I think we all forget.
