All this talk about heavy pull kinda makes me regret not grabbing one! One of the reasons I didn’t pick one up is my Northwoods other than my Madison have light pulls, fine on the Broadway and Michigan with their wharncliffe blades and the way I tend to use them, but my Hawthorne is a clip and while it hasn’t bit me yet, I’ve had the blade start to close on me a couple times when piercing a package or cardboard. I guess it’s because I came to the traditional world after getting used to modern locking knives, and most of what I own have a similar blade profile to a clip or spear but of course lock so the angle I might pierce something with them doesn’t matter. Nowadays I rarely use, (but usually still carry) a modern locking folder, and almost exclusively use a slip-joint so I should just learn to adjust but instead typically use a slippy with a stiff spring.
well my modded 77 clipped a chunk of skin of my thumb the other day due to it being softer than usual because of the mod. (there was alcohol consumption prior) but its subtle when it came to these lincoln jacks. its very subtle. not substantially heavier as I got a 15 in orange bone the other day to compare. well i took out the hoard and it felt slightly heavier. could just be me
