NWA knife passaround

mtnfolk mike, I didn't realize you were after me. I could just hand you the knife, it'll save me some money on shipping! :D

that sounds good to me.... that would be cool... i have lots of knives and bows for you to drool over...:D

Oh yeah, I'm also serious about looking into mountain biking as well.

Stuff like this http://youtube.com/watch?v=eVAccWTrnIQ but without the jumps and bridges, hahah.

Looks like good exercise and I get to go outdoors. Maybe you might know somebody with a cheap used bike for sale and show me some good trails.

Cool. Post pics if you can, it's always nice to see how others are using it

I'll be posting some pics this weekend. I have had quite a week at work and I will finally get to try out this knife in the next couple of days.

Nick is by far one of the better makers I have the pleasure of owning a knife from.

Cool, look forward to it Ira

Yep Nick is top notch all the way.

The knife fits in my hand really well. The balance is over my second finger when I am griping it. It arrived sharp but I stropped it plain leather and it was truly hair splitting. I would still like to see it without the choil. The sheath is solid and the knife seems to click into it and is held tight

May I ask the specs (length, steel type, handle material and the like) on this knife and the price. It looks VERY nice. I have always been impressed by his work.

The blade is just under 3", O1 steel, 5/32" thick with natural Micarta scales. This one is sort of a test design, but I like it and want one!

I've got it now. Had it a week and havn't had the chance to get outside.

My initial impressions are overwhelmingly positive. The knife sits in my hand very comfortably. The scales are much thicker than my beloved Mini-Northstar, which results in a much more positive grip.

Here are a couple of comparison shots: From the top down we have an Outdoor Edge Swingblade, a BRKT Mini-Northstar, the NWA knife, and a Busse Game Warden.

Here is the same lineup with the knives turned to show blade and handle thickness.

Here are the numbers:

KNIFE / WEIGHT / OAL / BLADE
SWINGBLADE 4.6 oz 8.375" 3.25"
MINI-NORTHSTAR 3.0 oz 7.25" 3.25"
NWA 4.2 oz 7.25" 2.75"
GAME WARDEN 5.7 oz 7.125" 2.5"

Here is a shot of the NWA in hand. Notice the size of the choil. It is too small to be practical yet big enough to kind of be in the way.

I'll try to get more up later.
