Nyala

Im also verry intrested in your thoughts on the knife Jeff. I love my sebenza and I'm considering a CRK fixed.

Knife is on it's way to Kiah to get custom sheathing for Rob and I. ;)

I really like the simplicity of that knife, though I find the non-flush scales a little odd. Given CR's legendary manufacturing precision I'd have figured he'd go for a flush fit. :confused:

Yep, that's the way the food chain works. Jeff sells us knives made out of ordinary carbon steel so he can afford Chris Reeve knives. :D

I'm glad someone finally figured it out. You think I'm gonna use that junk we sell yall? :D

Huh, why didn't I think of that. Hell I sold some of my ESEE contest winnings to buy another damn Junglas for My friend Riley.

I need to smarten up:mad::o

Jeff really should use knives that ordinary mortals can afford, not Chris Reeves or Busses. Here is one that is readily available that he could use.

That thing probably costs more than the CR!!! Just bear's picture is worth a 1000 bucks!

I broke the pommel on mine about 15 minutes into testing. But I did get my money back. Made in the Workers Paradise. Bear's picture is sure selling these toy knives like hot cakes!

Supposedly that was a big issue and Gerber is said to have a solution now. Don’t worry HD, you can still be like Bear!

Be interesting to hear your report on the Nyala Jeff.

The Nyala is no longer in my posession. It is in the mail system headed out to have new sheathing made. As soon as I get it back I will be putting it through the paces since I pretty much work on skills every day now.

When I get through dirtying this thing up Expatriated is gonna be crying! I fully intend to carry this thing for several months. It's going to be my main blade for our upcoming wilderness class and jungle survival.

Luckily you wont have to beat on it since batoning isnt required :p

last I heard, you only start using them after someone else wears the new off and sends them back!

I really like my Nyala (pronounced 'n-yala, and not 'ny-ala'). Now that the pronunciation class is over, the S35VN is supposed to be an improvement over the S30V that Chris has used for some time now. Those close to Chris have also stated that once his current stock of S30V is depleted he will change over to S35VN for ALL of his cutlery (even the Sebs). I bought my Nyala from him at Blade last year and later stained and waterproofed the leather sheath. The sheath was as tight as it could be at first but has since relaxed a bit after some grooving by the blade. My sheath won't likely encounter the damp environments as often as Jeff's, so I don't have the same understandable concerns he does. Otherwise, the Nyala is possibly the quintessential bush/utility/camp knife.
