"Objective" folder tests?

Ok guys you proved me wrong. There are other knives that have worse blade to handle ratios. I'm still not convinced on the model names though......

Me too very often. But it's only name, not a design or cutting performance, or blade to handle ratio, or materials. For example what annoys me more and is part of a design is blue logo on the handle of ZT 0220.

Also look at Sog knives if you think CS has the worst billboarding, or CRKT in terms of goofy name, "Get S**t Done" for example.

Hi. It’s often discussed what is objective/fair tests on knives, specially on folders. My knowledge is a “fair” test in science is an experiment conducted in a way that it does not provide any advantages to the subject being tested. A fair science experiment compares outcomes from a number of trials and typically has one variable and several constants. A large sample size is normally required, because if there are too few in the control and experimental groups, the statistical margin of error overwhelms the results of the test.

I’m really convinced nowadays all reputable knives company tests fairly extensively their products but I can also see they tend to test “selected” product characteristics, more according to their marketing style and sales arguments rather than according to a truly scientific and objective interest ;).

About lock strength tests for folders, I think they are good (like all the tests performed to verify and validate correct design, engineering and manufacturing product characteristics) but I relegate them under the “unforeseen use” potential failure. This can surely cause legal troubles if accidents happens and it's therefore good to consider, but surely isn’t something among the primary folder foreseen use for the average customer/user.

About YT testers I had my say about sometimes ago here and I maintain strongly my position :):p.

Dear knifeexperts.

I am from sweden and i have a question to you about i knife i bought some months ago. The CRKT m16 13lek (post link below).

https://www.crkt.com/m16-13zlek-spea...errations.html

I love the desigt and the feeling of the knife. But I recently saw a video on youtube (post link below) where a guy from coldsteel tests the quality on another crkt m16 knife and it didnt hold up for more than 4 heavy strikes in the test.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIu8JLybCkE

So my question is: Is My knife not strong enough for combat? I mean, if the zombies commes, will i not be able to fight of some hundreds of them with this knife? If i were to fight with this knife i would hold it in the "icepick grip" with the edge forward.

Thank you for answers.
