Odd tang stamp on BG-42 Custom???

Hey Buck guys,Vince here,I did not comment on this knife in the 4 sale forum, nor, did I red all the posts in this thread.

Vince - I'm not disparaging the knife, just wondering how widespread that particular tang stamp is. I had wondered if blade upgrade blades were different from Custom Shoppe blades...it would seem there is no common tang stamp for BG-42 blades...

Do any of the custom shop 110s that sport the "DESIGNER'S CHOICE" tang stamped blade have the BOS logo?

None of my two do... :D

chickentrax,I did not take it any one way, just replying to the thread,on my behalf.I think you Buck knife collectors devotion is admirable.
One of my first slips as a boy was a Cadet,I loved that one.....

Also, the frames sent in by individuals for blade steel upgrades have the BOS stamp, as do many of the BCCI knives; and there's no "DESIGNER'S CHOICE" stamp on them.
I have 2 blade upgrades with "Designer"s Choice" and neither has the "Bos" stamp.

...One of my first slips as a boy ...

Well, a fellow cross dresser. LOL

Anyway, I only have 2 110 BG-42 units and neither has a BOS stamp. Nor do I recall ever seeing that stamp on a BCKS 110 BG-42.

But then, well, I never been to Spain But I kinda like the music Say the ladies are insane there. (Meaning that some things you know are because you rely on others and I don't know what I don't know).

The 110MS has NO "CUSTOM" or "DESIGNER'S CHOICE" stampings. The blade is NOT stamped BG-42 below the spine either. Instead, the tang is stamped BG-42. Both sides of the tang on the 110MS are stamped. Also, there is NO anvil stamp.

The original run of Master Series knives have the checkered, dark green dymondwood(pakka wood) scales. The over runs have the smooth, non-checkered french green wood scales.

tanks a ton 110!
seeing as i lost a liner lock
{fell out of the card board box i guess }
i got to find a star of the display!!

i may have found a 110MS
but i am confused
one seems to be refered to as the Master Series 110 and the other as
the french green with the BG42 balde...
is there a differnce ?!?!?!?

it is the over runs with the green that have the bg42 balde
but the normal first run MS do not?!?!

i am so confused  and dased:o
are they worth 300$ each ? or what ...

Jim.no mistake,the Women are the smarter,it is a disease

The Master Series 110 will have checkered inlays and a M.S. medallion recessed into an inlay on 1 side. The French green are smooth inlays-no medallion.

I'll e-mail you pictures. I can't post on here even with chickentrax's tutorial. I tried.

There was a post to that other tutorial I linked to that mentioned something about firewalls or security settings interfering with Photobucket linking...Try a search here for Photobucket problems...I might have even posted it to another member who was having problems...just look through my 2456 posts...it's in there somewhere...  :)

Here's two tips from Photobucket...

There may be another setting that needs tweaking...someone here knows it...GeoCost maybe???

BG-42 is stamped on the tang. The only place the 110MS is stamped is on the tang. Other than that, the blade is stamp and etch-free. It has a nice super clean look. I personally think it is one of the prettiest production 110s ever made. This is just my opinion though.

I don't like the Master Series checkered handles :barf: . The French green handle on the over run's is the one I'm a looken for  ......some day. One of the 110 MS just ended on ebay within the last day or two.....sorry I deleted it from my watch list last night.
