  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Get some charity work man. Used to be a doctor was supposed to do charity work. Call your insurance and ask them why they didn't cover any of it.

Got this in the mail tonight. Had one years ago, but gave it to my son. An excellent book:

Cool. One of the few books that shows the old ways of doing things.

Foxfire are a real good set of books that are full of the old ways! they're interviews of older people from the appalachian mountains that were done in the 1970s'. Sometimes you can find them in yard sales or thrift stores for practicly nothing..

Wildwood wisdom is a awesome book, out dated on the medical, but the rest is a part of history....love it

Never seen the SAS Survival Handbook

If I remember correctly, Ethan said it was his favorite book.

i believe his favorite book, is Richard Grave's "Bushcraft". amazon and other fine used retailers have copies. buy one. be amazed. or not. me? it's WONDERFUL. every young person should memorize this book.

also: we have peep sign.

which means the frogs in the swamps are singing. a lot. wow. weird. cool.

Another good one....

Primitive Wilderness Living & Survival Skills - Naked into the Wilderness by John McPherson

I've had the SAS handbook for so long I had to order another, great book!

Another book I use a lot is called: How to stay alive in the woods by Bradford Angier.

Have to look up some of the books mentioned here. I used to go to the library and check out the Foxfire series. Very cool books.

I'm gonna be in upstate SC on Thursday and Friday. Anyone live in that area?

Look up Foxfire books on the bay, not cheap. I went looking for the set a couple years ago for my ol lady. Settled with some others.

Another good survival book is, "Stay Alive! Survival Skills You Need." By John D. McCann. Lame title but great info and up to date with gear featured in the book. There are even Becker pictures with a Patrol Machete and a BK-9 featured in the knives and tools chapter.
