I have a few X-men that are under plastic, especially the one where Phoenix dies and the whole Hellfire series; those might be worth selling but I just can't bring myself to.
Two things.
1.) Those story arcs have been done so many times, I literally could not tell which issues you are referencing, because all X-Men does is reuse the same 20 story arcs over and over and over. I had a friend quit comics for like 5 years, comes back, picks up an issue, and the first words out of his mouth were "I swear to all that is holy I have read this story ten times now. Thank you Marvel for convincing me that quitting comics was a good idea and killing off the industry a little slower than what you managed in the 90's."
2.) The 90's was terrible for comics. If any of your comics were from the 90's, you should burn them*. If they were a "collectors edition" or something along those lines and were wrapped in plastic, you need to take them out of the plastic, because the plastic used for all those comics literally destroys the comic inside. The plastic was high acidity and not archival grade, and was the absolute worst choice for all of those "collector" comics they made back in the day. Once you get them out though they are fine, aside from being as far from collectible as possible. Back when Marvel was actively trying to destroy the comic book industry for all time they over-inflated production and flooded the market with "hard to find" comics that were more common than herpes on a New York streetwalker, and as a result almost killed the industry for good. Thanks to that, we have a ridiculous amount of comics from the 90's, and almost every one of them is worth less than the paper it is printed on. (Provided of course the paper is still actually paper and not a pile of dust in a "collectors" bag.
And don't even get me started on "holographic" and "foil" covers...
