So my 9 yr. old daughter comes in the shop last night crying because her gold fish Max died. I gave her a hug and tried my hardest to ease her pain. The whole time in the back of my head I'm thinkin "its about time" that thing had to be 100 yrs. old. Gets me out of cleaning the aquarium to.:o

So, I should bring a new one by Wed? :D

Buy her a lizzard and make her a little terrarium for it in the aquarium. Lizzards are much easier to maintain.

Did you go to the doctor? Im thinking of just taping it up and putting some ice on it. Its not like they'll be able to to any thing anyway.

Better choice is to take a ball peen hammer and hit a toe on your other foot. You'll forget all about this first toe.

BTW, I'm not a medical doctor. Just in case you're headed to the tool box...

This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home...

Post up some pics. This should count as my first real medical consult.
However, I will be erasing all these posts shortly to avoid the malpractice suit.

Smallfart has some very nice 2" shoulder straps (black) for $1.97 for those accesorizing in black this year.

At church this morning I see. Many of us worship in the camping aisle of Smallfart. :D

Hey guys,

Just flying back from the OR show in SLC. Some of you might remember that Derek asked me to look into the production/delivery situation for the Guyot Designs Gription as well as the production/delivery of stainless water bottles.

When I spoke to Guyot, they told me that they we going ahead with the Gription and that Nalgene had placed an order for more stainless bottles for the fall.

Now here is where things get interesting. Yesterday I dropped by the Nalgene booth and asked them about delivery dates for the stainless bottles. They all suddenly looked pissed and told that I should ask Guyot about this seeing as how they (Nalgene) had paid for a shipment but had not received delivery. In fact, they said they had no idea when or if they were ever going to see the bottles. One of the guys came pretty close to using some rather colourful language to describe the situation but stopped short as there were other folks within earshot.

Draw your own conclusions, but I'm suddenly feeling less optimistic about seeing Griptions or stainless bottles.

Looking forward to being back home tonight. Can't wait to see Christine, the two mongrels and enjoying a real beer. Trying to get a buzz from Salt Lake beer is a losing battle.

I hate to say it Gus, but I kinda saw it coming. For years the Guyot website had a lot of info on it, many different products available, etc... Then all of a sudden things started disappearing from it. Then towards the end of last year the entire website was replaced with a placeholder page. Now it appears to be back up, but if you look the amount of products shown now is a fraction of what it used to be. On top of this you have product delays that I have never seen before in any type of product; Specfically the Gription. Here is a pic of it:

The Gription is a lid replacement for your Nalgene bottles that allows you to drink from it without removing the lid. Also adds a handle. Pretty nifty in my opinion. Anyways, I have no idea how long it was out, but I have been scouring the globe for one for the better part of four years now. During that time I have been in constant contact with Guyot, as well as third party distributors of their products, and have received an email almost every month for the last four years saying it would be coming out "in the next month or so". It eventually reached a point where they stopped answering my emails. Reasons given were varied, but ultimately nothing has as of yet been done to rectify the situation. I ran across several Griptions a couple of years back, but some rear end in a top hat had removed all the inside parts that provide the sealing mechanism for the device. Other than that, I have a friend that has one that I may have to liberate from his possession should Guyot not come through on this sometime soon.

Recently several people have started calling them out about all this on their Facebook page. My main criticism of them is that instead of focusing on making their products available again, they have been doing everything but and instead spend a great deal of time designing products for other companies, like a head lamp for Snow Peak. Not sure who is in charge over there, but he needs a kick in the rear and a come to Jesus meeting something fierce. Hopefully they will get their act together sooner rather than later, otherwise someone else is going to make something comparable.
