That contraption is pretty bad ass! But does it have a dual clutch and split logs?

Murph, I thought you had a Ka-bar Already...

Next time, try bringing the pins/contour/tang/profile down to the narrowest finished dimensions first and work outward from there to shape and blend the relatively soft handle material into the curves you want. It's much easier to build a sleek, comfortable handle that way. No one likes a lumpy, edgy handle.

Yeah, that's what I did, and usually do, but I must have overheated one area of the tang enough during 2D rough profiling to get the epoxy a little oozy this time, because one scale shifted slightly when I was peening the pins a bit, and so things were just slightly out of place before I started 3D contouring (slight enough that I didn't notice until it had set again and it was too late, unless I wanted to steam the handles off and reset. It's actually not as proud as you'd think, and doesn't feel at all lumpy or uncomfortable. Part of it is just the angle of the shot and the lighting. But I've gotten pickier. We're talking maybe a hundredth or two of an inch at best. Thanks for the advice though.

Sil, I saw where you asked about the FFA. It's without a doubt my favorite axe. Splits like a little maul and such a handy size. If a guy could only have one axe or hatchet, this would be it.

NICE. I have been eyeballing that one and a few others, and your recommendation has pushed me over the edge.

Anybody got a Kleen Kanteen wide mouth? Backpacker? I'm outfitting the Becker bag.

Guyon, check out REI, right now they have their semi-annual sale going on. I know they have them in different materials and sizes and styles.

Ka-bar as a carving knife. Don't need to get a new one! :)

Morning.... So, just catching up on the thread and trying to stay away from the breakfast thread, all of the sudden I'm hungry for fried chicken. I wonder whose fault that is?
