Congrats! I have always thought of the lottery as a tax on people who don't understand math, especially the scratch and rip tickets. In my college years I worked in both a convenience store and a bar, and it never ceased to amaze me how so many people would spend $20 on tickets, get one $10 "winner" out of it, and be pleased as punch :confused: I used to tell customers, "Look dude, stop funneling your money to the State and/or the mob... just give me a $50 and maybe once in a while I'll give you some back." Oddly enough, no one ever took me up on that offer :D

I do understand the folks who buy a couple Powerball and Megabucks etc tix every week, because hey, it's a buck and you might win a million. But those scratch tickets are nothing but crack for sober people.

Awesome neighborhood, but that's gonna really suck when it rains. If that house was on top of a hill instead of at the bottom of a bowl, I'd be all over it.

There's something wrong with that picture... perhaps the epoxy wasn't cured or you generated way too much heat. Or maybe there was too much slop around/between the pins and the tang holes? Stuff shouldn't wander around like that. I apologize for sounding like a nit-picky SOB... I don't mean to be a bastard, I'm honestly trying to help. I'm just a geek about that sort of thing :o

Hey I love Beckers AND Busse, throw in Beer and those 3 "Bs" damn sure make a "better Business" heck a 1 stop shop if ever there was one :)
 
Hmmmm....playing in a disc golf tournament tomorrow and this new mini-competition announcement makes it much more exciting:

"there will be a $1 "CTB" (closest to beer) where you can win 2 bombers of premium pumpkin ale (Southern Tier Pumking and Samuel Adams Fat Jack)."

I hear ya. The odds are so ridiculous. That's what I do, a dollar here, and a dollar there. I mainly play the lucky day lotto, which rarely goes over $250,000, or the regular lotto, which is now 8 million. It usually doesn't get that high. On occasion, when the mega, or powerball are ridiculously high, I'll spend a buck on it. Have never been into the scratch offs. I've never even bought one before.

I think of it as voluntary taxation; in NH lottery money pays for school. Unlike real taxes, you know exactly how much of it covers administrative costs and and where the rest of it goes, to the penny...and it's also like taxes in that I almost never get any money back!

Teamwork :) That sounds like a good plan to me! I'm very grateful to have my wife in my life... she does lots of "little things" to help me, and I try to do the same for her. That means way more than diamonds or gold.

I do see your point, but it targets the folks who can least afford it and benefit least from it. That's messed up... and that will be the extent of my psuedo-political ramblings. :)

Dang that is pretty cool, what's the price tag on it? Would eliminate a ton of stuff bit would have to travel on the first two lanes on the freeway here in California...
