On a side note, the BJJ guy I squared off against in our freestyle tournament has joined our school now.

Good to have a new comrade and obviously someone saw some judo and liked it :)

Excellent news today concerning my daughter. The MRI came back negative for and stress fractures in the spine and negative for any kind of cancerous tumors. Doc said that the MRI would tell him 99% of what he needs to know, and that a blood test and bone scan will tell us the other 1%. So, we did the blood test today and scheduled the bone scan for Tuesday. But the great news is Doc is confident no stress fractures and more importantly no evidence of cancer. Yeah! I'm a happy Dad tonight. Still something going on, but great to have the most scary things ruled out!

Yea i was looking at xmas toys for the kids online with the wife and missed the show too, for some reason i thought it came on at 9 but it was 8 i guess.

Ill be looking for a link to it in a few if your interested.

Sounds like a good time.

As an experienced drunken knife sharpener, I have a bit of advice.

Just because the knife doesn't feel sharp, doesn't mean it is dull. It just means your fingers are numb.

PS, I don't have an opinonion on cold steel training swords but I think getting a legitimate piece of metal for your kid makes you an awesome father.

Maybe look at those cheap musashi iaido swords that no self respecting practioner would carry. They might be cheaper and are, from what I understand, full tang and ready to go.

Also, iaido blades are unsharpened, most of them, and the ones you'll find from mentioned maker, most definitely so.
 
LMAO giving a 4 year old a real sword might make child services come talk to me LOL, I want the trainer for him to be able to play with without me watching like a hawk, worrying about him cutting himself,or his sister lol. Even unsharpened steel can penetrate something fierce and id hate to have to explain that to momma :D

Both my kids have a real knife, and when we are in the woods and im watching them I hand it to them and explain how to use it safely.... But dude my son is 4!!! I cant give him a katana and tell him go play LMAO


I dont know much about swords... But i searched those and found some pretty cheap ones that look nice. One day im going to need to get me a katana or have someone make me a long khopesh out of 52100, now that would be a DREAM
