Not sure if my comment was the one that closed the BSA thread, but if so I apologize. I wasn't trying to make it political, just wanted it pointed out that the framework that we in the BSA have is, or at least was, pretty darn good for the things that people expect to learn from Scouting. The difficulties that are becoming more and more widely discussed though are caused by, in my opinion, the interpretation of that framework. I don't *think* that is a political statement, but I could be wrong, so if it was me what done that thread in, apologies.

Nope. It was the entirety of whole thing really.

It wasn't going anywhere good, and had little to no BKT content.

No. You know the Scouts and posted a decent response. You also posted in response to the original proposal.
It was some of the other posts that were angling toward judgment and political positions. Lesson learned on my part.
Moose texted me that he thought it should be closed. I looked at the posts since my last request in there, and I totally agreed.

Alright, next topic then.

If the Gatherings have to go someplace, where shall they go? Who knows of a decent place to have them that is rather centrally located near the Eastern-ish side of the country that is fairly central? I don't speak for the boss on this, just trying to see if we might have alternatives and what they might be like. Someone's property would be preferable to public property methinks, but then I've been wrong before. Ideally we need someone that owns a brewery with a really big yard. And plenty of parking. And close proximity of a good bacon store.

I wonder if Benton's could send in a vendor, sort of like that Smoky Mountain Bushcraft guy that showed up. Three words: tubs of bacon.

I do like this idea. I know Shadow has some large land out in southwest Missouri. I realize that isn't easternly however it would accommodate the gathering... If he is okay with it.

We got a lot of free wood this year so far too. I don't know exactly what kind it is but is has a real tight grain, hard as a rock, and is a b!tch to split. It would also be nice if it actually started to dry and the rounds weren't 16-20'' wide and about 2 feet tall.

Ethan and I talked about this, we may have a solution.

I put Moose at the bottom.

Makes mine better.

Ha.

Well okay then. I hope it involves a brewery and a bacon store. Maybe a grocery store for the other miscellaneous items that go with the beer and bacon.
