Official 2017 Traditional Forum's TC Barlow Picture Thread.

I am not a very good photographer but here are a couple of photos on my Bladeforums knife.

Nice knife, what ' s the iron beneath???

Just like a regular family pic, can't get everyone to cooperate, the 2015 CSC Serpentine Jack is hidden behind this year's 2017 BF, TC Barlow. I'll get a good family shot, maybe we'll take "em all out for an outdoor family pic. Anyway, here's a quick fail tryin' to fit them all. :):D

That is a Smith & Wesson model 14-3. It is a .38 spl with a wide target hammer spur, wide target trigger and the target grips. The person who had it prior to me had some work done on it. The hammer pull and trigger are first rate. Nice, light and crisp

Picked up mine from the post office today. It really is a lovely knife. Fit and finish is excellent: blade sits dead center in the well, fit of backspring to liners is about as good as it gets on a production knife, snaps nicely open and closed. Pull is a bit soft for a GEC, but not too soft, just about right. I am very partial to the canvas micarta covers. Knife has a very nice feel in hand.

I'm a little late to this party. This was another knife that got to hang out at the post office for several days while we were on vacation. I'm really happy with the knife, and I particularly like the satin bolsters and nail nick.

I was a little worried that the pile-side tang stamp would look cramped, but it's not too bad.

One thing I notice about this year's knife is the consistency, seems like all the knives came out nearly identical. Even people who bought 2 haven't mentioned noticing any difference. Usually someone says something, maybe it's still the honeymoon period. Personally both knives I received were excellent, centered blades, nothing proud, back spring flat open closed or at half stop. No gaps crisp stamps, even grinds, clean, even drawn swedges both sides, flush pins and even the matching micarta scales are equally thick and parallel.

Even the one big complaint I've always had about GEC is their outta the box sharpness wasn't as bad as usual. It came shaving sharp, I'm not gonna say hair whittlin' razor sharp but it took the hair off my arm and left the flesh behind. Now I know you can scrape the hair off an arm or leg with even dull knives, you could still find enough of an edge to grimace through while rippin' the hair out with a ragged edge... Nope, not this time, (I'll confess, I did put my own edge on it before the end of the day, ;) )

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 bein' perfect and bein' able to throw the knife into my pocket and know it'll perform as I expect I'd have to give it a 9 . It's got a great melody but it's hard to dance to. ;) Sorry my age showin' itself :) .

If the edge woulda been a little more polished and less toothy I woulda gave it a 10. Barry, Charlie, and all the others involved, you guys ain't just gettin' older, you're gettin' better. Thanks for another great Forum knife.

Yeah my 2 did not have blades dead on centered. Both favor the pile side, noticeably. So it's tough to dance to Estimated Prophet.
