The simple answer is no. There is no warranty on "S" knives. This is straight from Chris at GEC!!

Nice to see these BF Barlows being carried and used!!

"A Barlow in every pocket!!":D

You'd get my vote :)

You knew I was gonna use mine. :) I just had to take a couple of pristine pics for historical records before I used it. ;)

I didn't polish the bolsters on mine. I just made them a bit more satiny. I don't like the heavy lines in the finish GEC leaves on satin bolsters. A little emery cloth, rust eraser and some Flitz. I may hit them again to smooth them out a bit more.

I like the way yours turned out, Bob.:cool: I tried a my own hand at it last night; used a small piece of 1000 grit sandpaper, followed by small piece of 2000 grit. Went East-West against GEC's North-South grain, and got all but a couple faint remnants of the deeper lines. It went surprisingly fast - took minutes...including the masking tape job. Now it looks more normal to me. Ready for the random rubs & scratches of pocket wear. :p

Looks really good GE.

I'll say one thing, I never understood the hoopla about the Barlows, but I was wrong. Feels like a completely different knife than a regular 15 (my favorite GEC pattern). This run sure made a lot of folks happy.

The micarta give a great feel when you're holding her. The rather lightweight and the slimness are bonuses!
It will be hard to decide which one to use between her and the ancient barlow. Maybe the thinner blade give the second a tiny advance.

On the entire knife or just the blade? I'll probably do the whole thing, I worry about rust in the nooks and crannies.
