Official BeckerWest 2014 Spring Gathering. April 25th-27th

It looks like a factory rep. from Silverfire stoves will be up there friday late afternoon ish to do some demo's. I'm still working out the details.

The scout model looks like perfection to me. I wonder of the rep would bring a few to sell...I'd buy one for sure.

I'll probably get one of those too. I'll tell them to bring a few but, I'm sure they are looking at it as a chance to sell some of their goods.

Sure, that would be a lot of fun, hobbling around on crutches...
Beardlove has this walking stick he could let you borrow.

I'm also bringing some mycarta bow bearings for a fun for all caveman style fire starting... I usually get a ton of smoke and not much flame...

Fal'er,

Thanks for setting up the silverfire demo up. I stopped by their shop today to check them out. Pretty cool. I'm real interested in one. Likely the survivor model. They have seconds of the survivor in their shop.

I'll be real interested in seeing them actually run.

Yeah, i gotta follow up on directions and setting a time, I'm thinking 4pm friday.

Also Ethan is coming to BW. He called me today and left me a message.

Nice!!! I was starting to think he was a no go.

I'm really glad Ethan will be there.

Also, on a related note. I have a huge, 13lb brisket in my freezer. I was planning to cut it up and bring that. So, a roughly about an 8lb brisket will be in attendance, LOL. Does anyone out there have a good technique for cooking that big of a brisket on an open fire. I have never done this so, I'm at your mercy. Also, the brisket may or may not need to be seasoned before hand. Does anyone have any ideas?

Call Ethan and ask him, I bet he knows a guy who'd know what to do with that meat.

I am soooo looking forward to getting out there! I have a couple blades made up to use and a couple more in my head that might make the trip :)

Bill, I'm going to tell you again. This is NOT a good way to carry knives.

Wow, I can't believe I have been on the forum for 2 years, and still not made it to a Becker West... I only live 2 hours away!!!
