Official Northeast Beckerhead Spring Gathering. PICS ADDED.

Thanks again everyone for all the kindness and we got in about 7 hours ago just had lots of running around with mothers days finally unpacked and settled in now
I've got pics let me know where I should post them

I just wanted to say I was blown away with getting the BK7, who knew being able to blow an ember into a fire would get you choice on the table!!! A thousand thanks to Ethan for the generosity

2.5 hour drive home

not uneventful... a sweet double-bit axe came with me

at the same time, i seem to have lost my favorite glove, either where i was parked at the cabin, or perhaps at "the red barn". but mostly at the cabin. i'm pretty sure i didn't see it on the ground, but i can't find it...

if someone should be in touch with anyone still there, perhaps they could look. or if someone mozies by the cabin in their convenient travels...

looks like this:

pretty sweet weekend. good food. cold streams. nice people. good dog.

weird I lost a glove too

That was a great time fo sho. Wanted to wait until I fully unpacked my car, no stowaway gloves that I could find. Apologies for my overmellow demeanor on Saturday.... not sure why but I was wiped out tired. I think a long few weeks just caught up to me or something, once I had a chance to breathe fresh mountain air for 12 hours or so....

Hilights for me were the drive out (so gorgeous!), playing with Becker (I don't often get a chance to play with big, strong dogs like that), seeing all the awesome knives on the knife table.... wow! And getting the fire from the fresnel lens was cool too. First time this northerner had ever gotten fire that way.... And of course sharing stories, great food, and mead around a campfire with great people is always a highlight of my week when it happens.....

Oh, and checking out Bladite's Cincy Machax was a treat, thanks Bladite! I love the added heft, the non-swedged blade (SUCH an improvement over the current production models). I do like the Kabar's lightness, though. I still love my production 'chax, sorry Bladite. :-D One of these days, I'll get a custom knifemaker to make me a replica of a Cincy 'chax, except with a fully convex blade. Yeah, that'd rule.

Incredibly, I didn't take a single photo, despite the fact that I brought a camera. Ah well.

Thanks to everyone for showing this Newb a great time, for your hospitality and generosity.

We made it back home safely. Pictures will be up after we are unpacked.

We had a great time and it was great to see everyone again and meet some awesome new people.

We were the last to leave and we didn't find any gloves. Sorry guys!

Jeremy

Someone make sure to check Becker dog for gloves :)

If that's where it is are you sure you want it back???

fire bad spell good

well, Tilley hats come out undamaged from the passage of the elephant. so the marketing says.

in the case of the gloves, they are "material 4x" which is more durable/etc than leather. they can't taste so good either.

Glad you could make it! Without having the ability to check the internet we were not sure when/if you were going to show up. I am glad you and your kids had a good time. Congrats on the 7!

I am sure it is ok to post pictures in this thread. Maybe when trailbum checks this thread he can add "Pics added" or something to the title

That was a good time-thanks all.
I neither lost, nor gained any gloves...

Thanks for showing up and showing us your work. I REALLY like that knife you wanted me to abuse. It seems very versatile. Can't remember what you called it but I have pictures of it to drool over.

It was great to meet you again and I am soooo glad you were able to make it to this gathering. You an Mike did an awesome job with that pork loin and your mead was really good. Don't worry about being mellow. Just be yourself and have fun.

I am working on pictures and a recap thread.

I should say without dresnor showing up with the Fresnel lens my little magnifying glass wasn't cutting it, so thanks for the assist sir!

Sounds like a good time. Looking forward to pics and stories and reminisce about Becker east.

I must google this "Tilley Hat", and how it came to make this arduous journey...
