Hey GSOM, when you pick up the pork, mind letting me know exactly what cuts you get? That way if need be I can do a little research and can arrive with a backup plan (at the very least) to grill it if the spit doesn't work out.

Plan on getting a loin. They have some huge ones at BJ's.
 
hey guys I've run into a small snag, my daughter has an ap euro test she has to take and won't be finished until 3 which means I won't be there until 9 or so. I know I was bringing the burgers and such. So maybe we do them sat instead? Sorry for the mix up, I didn't find out until late last night

also anyone bringing any sharpening stones/supplies a buddy gave me this beat up kukuri I'm wondering if it could be saved

Don't worry about it. Saturday burgers will be fine, might be a few more people to feed. We'll do the roast tonight instead. I'll try to save you guys some ;).

That works. If we do it on the grill it will take a couple hours probably once everything is up to temp. I'll get there as early as I can. :-)

I mixed up a really nice rub/spice mixture last night. I'll bring that..... yum.

I'll throw some stuff in the car-dunno if it will do the trick or not. That may need some serious profiling.

See if you can figure out if the metal is even hard before wasting effort and abrasive on that thing.
The method of decoration and pattern of rust sure makes me suspicious.
 
long work day, big chores for home...

went to tractor store to trade for right parts this morning

back again tomorrow morning again, because the OTHER parts for the hitch one of the pins in wrong ;)

but they sent me cookies :>

doing some sewing of gear tonite... food first. am tuckered.

should make it out by late morning for the day at least, if not more...

will try to wrangle up some show and tell stuff, but really, nothing much new has happened since last Fall... oh, yeah, new bonecutters

no surprises have shown in the mail. perhaps a couple wood working tools to talk about? Michael?

will call ahead to see if i get a voice in the wilderness and if supplies are needed, got 3 numbers for Jason, and an address in Hill...

oh, yeah, should inquire on the way past a "station" about a fishing license. might be tool much trouble?

I wasn't gonna say that, but my expectations of lionhead khuks are pretty low-we'll see.
