Dan,
IF a person has ordered mutiple knives, such as myself; is it $10 shipping for each knife ??

Or, hopefully... is there a break for multiple knife orders.... .... since they would most likely all easily fit in a Flat Rate Priority box.

Just need a clarification so I can send some shipping so all of mine can be listed as PIF / Paid in Full ...........
Thank's in advance........... ;)

$10 the first knife, $5 additional.

Any time is fine with me...

And for the record, I will getting a standard sheath from JRE - probably only two styles to choose from. Price is not set yet, but expect them to be very similar to what we saw in the passaround.

That said, I will gladly send a knife to any sheathmakers interested in getting in on the action....just that JRE is the official sheathmaker for the run...and the only ones I plan on stocking for the BushMaster.

Do you have a tentaive timeframe for shipping yet, so we know when final payments need to be completed?

Very knice looking knife. Please put me on the list for a BushMaster - Elite Option w/ black liner.

Email has been sent. Paypal sent in full: $235 for the knife, $10 for shipping and $5 to split the paypal fee -- $250 total.

Dan, I've now paid in full for my Bushcraft kit and Bushmaster, paypal #9PP87015N89866010. Rob

how do you guys feel about jimping on the spine instead of thumbgrooves? I don't think putting the thumbgrooves on is going to work....:thumbdn:

It would basically look like this:

For me, it's a good alternative. All the edges will be stone-finished and not sharp....but enough to definitely keep you from sliding your hand forward.

Need some input ASAP.....

Dan

I'm not too crazy about the jimping. It looks way too course. I liked the thumbgrooves on the prototype drawings, but would rather go without if the wide jimping is the only alternative.

If thumbgrooves don't work then that isn't an issue for us, you already made the decision.

What is jimping? I'm not familiar with that term.

I think the jimping is a great way to go...........

Looks good and feels good........... Go with it Dan !!!!! ;)

For you guys out there that have not experienced this.......... the key words are in bold in the quote above.
It is really a nice way to go, very functional also, and easy on the hand/skin.

I can leave the spine sharp - for striking a firesteel...no problem.

but, at this point, the thumbgrooves are a no-go.

I apologize for having to make a change at this point...but as this is a mid-tech production (made clear from the first) I am at the mercy of what my machinists can do best.

Here is the problem:

If I want thumbgrooves, I have to do them myself. I can't do them unless I grind the spine flat first (it comes tapered from the waterjet guy). But the machinist needs blanks straight from waterjet cutting...untouched....and they have to be heat-treated before being ground. Which means I have to put the thumbgrooves on first...because I certainly can't do it myself after heat-treat.

And if you were able to follow all that...maybe you are a knifemaker already...:p :foot:

Long story short....no thumbgrooves - they don't have the tooling for it, I can't do it before OR after I send the blanks to them.

So, it's either jimping or nothing. At this point, I'm inclined to go with the jimping....I've done it on my K-TUSK model for a couple years with very good feedback. Comes out good and feels great.

I'm not exactly opening this up for debate as much as I'm saying that if anyone wants to jump ship on this issue....need to let me know.
