Official SURVIVE! picture thread

oh man i missed a lot somehow! Congrats standard on that beast of 3v goodness, I really liek the orange handles on the gso-10, it's like a warning to all the wood in the area. Anttheknee, is taht a stone hearth of sorts in your picture? looks very cool whatever it is...you also might have the most well shaved head I have ever seen, almost looks photo-shopped! Very cool! I love the 4.1 too, so far it is my favorite survive! but we will see what happens when the new 5.1 shows up...

Hey, thanks for the compliment! I Swear it's the safety Razor I use. It's a Merkur 34C if anyone's interested. I started using it because you can get a 100 pack of blades for 10 bucks on amazon. That's about a years supply. saved tons of money. Yes i love the 4.1 but I'm in the same boat as you. That is waiting to see what happens when I get a new 5.1!

So here are some pics to show you the differences between the new and old 5.1 and sheaths

I like that there's far less material on each side of the sheath...main reason I prefer my Kydex bent taco-style. :D

Not crazy about the camo

The gso 5 was the first pattern that got me into this brand. still my favorite one knife woods option

I really like the 1,2,4,7 scales from the top down. so many awesome scales, especially the first/top.

I think the top scales are linen camo micarta that have been polished a bit. Not 100% on that as I think it was a kind of a special order kind of thing from the original owner.
I like the polished corby bolts, scales and convex grind on that knife.

Thought I'd throw the pic of my two together in the mix. The 5.1 is this latest run, the 4.1 is a m390 from a while back.

Man is that jade nice or what! That and the bone linen really surprised me. Neither are something I would have considered from the outset, but seeing the recent pics posted of them has changed my mind. Super sharp choice there krazyjoe.

I had several knives in one place this morning and thought I'd do a group shot. I figured that there may be a handful of guys, like myself, who have migrated to the survive style of knives from the bark rivers.
A direct comparison to some of the more popular bark rivers may help someone in deciding which Survive to pre-order/purchase.
As I've said before, the 5.1 surprised me when I first got it. The stats just didn't convey to me how truly beefy this knife is.
At one point in time, I thought the Fox River was a large knife and that Arno Bernard was gigantic!

From top to bottom:

New model Survive 5.1

Arno Bernard Buffalo

Older Survive 4.1

Bark River Canadian Special

Bark River Fox River LT

Bark River Classic Drop Point Hunter.

B34NS, I do hope your thread is full of pics. You easily take some of the best indoor shots of those knives that I've seen!
