Oh s#rew this....

It's OK mate, not nearly as bad as the world would believe.... truly....!!! I have managed to live well into *cough* my early 30s *cough* without serious damage !!

Those Mulgas are deadly. Yikes he was lucky.

We had an eastern brown in the log pile out the front a few weeks ago. We discovered it through Truman who was interested in something in there. He flinched back a few times and I though it was probably just a lizard. Closer inspection revealed a metre or so long eastern brown. Once it knew its cover was blown it took off through the leaf litter in the front garden and we didn't see it again. One nip from those buggers and you've got to drop everything and get help.

Yeah, E/Browns and Red Bellys frequent the areas I hunt (and the huts at times). Here at home we generally only see the Red Bellys (people across the street asked me to come help flush one out that was living in the Granny Flat in their yard (with his Mother in Law) ). I was shocked when we put it out (it made for the bush over their back fence) as it was close to 2m, biggest black I have seen EVER !

Saw a show awhile back, about snake control guys down there removing these poisonous snakes from houses and what not. The thing that struck me as insane is, they couldn't kill the snake. Catch and release because they are protected,,, That about right?

..... were the snakes in question wearing a vest ??? ;) They are fair game if a threat to a person. Most all snake catchers are snake lovers as well so go the relocation route. I am not a snake lover....

It sounds like absolutely everything down under, big or small, exists there just so it can kill you.

And just to top it all off we have a bird tat sits up in a tree laughing at you while it happens. :)

I'm kinda getting a feeling that when you aussie guys post something it's basically a code for "I'm not dead yet... don't call an ambulance...probably don't call it... I'll try to walk it off..."
