Oh Say Can You Snark...

No argument here. Cats can be absolutely cold-hearted... but total sweethearts at the same time. Frankly, I admire that in a way.

Slippy (the one who skinned the bunny alive just for kicks, or as I prefer to call it, "practice for armageddon") also stood guard over my daughter every night after I tucked her in, and wouldn't let anyone but me near her. To this day, she's a total cuddly lovey-dovey kitten to me and my kid, but it has taken four solid years for her to get to the point where she's gotten used to my wife and is actually semi-friendly to her (and my dear wife is about the kindest-hearted human you could ever hope to meet, and certainly no stranger to rescuing and caring for neglected critters).

Someday I'll tell the whole story of how Slippy came to be part of my world,,, suffice to say, she was a badly-abused rescue off the mean streets... and a couple previous women demanded, "it's me or that damn cat!"

That damn cat is still here with me ;)

HAHA, that cat is trying to keep women away from you LOL... There is a joke in there its just not polite enough to say here :D

Well, it's officially mine. Went and closed on it today. Just took about 15 minutes. The previous owners were great people, and came back to the cabin with us, and sorta showed us around. They stayed for a bit, then we celebrated with champagne, then ate a meal. Then, it was work time.

Ah yes, she's mine:

Our first meal. Did the fast thing, because we wanted to get some work done. Cheddar and bacon macaroni salad, chicken salad on ciabatta rolls, chips and dip, and washed it all down with a nice Pepsi, haha:

Some clean up, looking towards the shed:

From the shed:

Got the driveway all weeded:

The previous owner was a metal worker. He wrapped the entire shed in metal:

Thanks man. It's funny, the previous owner has had that place since 1986, and he's never explored the upper part of the property. Damn. I didn't go up there today because of limited time, and wanting to clean the yard up, but I will as soon as I can. I'm real excited man. I've had this dream for 30 freakin' years, and today it became reality.

I think I found my new favorite show, sons of anarchy is extremely good, also got an email from Eli, my sheath is in the mail, can't wait!

Looks like a blast, Warrior, have fun :)

Of course she's jealous and protective, I'm a great guy and a helluva catch.

But you forget (or never knew) who you're talkin' to and where I was and who I was with some years ago... dark days, my friend. Much darkness.

That cat scared away bad women and evil spirits. She's since learned to accept and embrace the finest woman I've ever known... and vice versa.

I wouldn't trade that cat or that woman for all the tea in China, or anything anywhere  ;)

Thanks man, appreciate it. Can't wait to get back. It's so serene back there. I live a block and a half from the railroad tracks, and hearing it go by all the damn time drives me up a wall. At the cabin, couldn't hear anything but the birds chirping, that's it. All the music one needs. Well, besides rock and metal, haha.

That is AWESOME!!!! Congrats. Hard to believe you came back to civilization.

Thanks man. I didn't want to come back, but we had to. We're hoping to go back next weekend, for the weekend. Maybe even get a hike in there somewhere.

Congrats on the cabin, Dubz! It looks awesome!

One of two shows I always look forward too, along with archer. I will say, the way SOA ended in the last season makes me wonder whats going to happen in the next one.

Congrats on the cabin Dubz! I'm sure you're stoked and can't wait to put your own personal touches on it. Bet you have a thousand ideas on how to make it your own. And "unexplored" property, well that's just a bonus!
Thanks man. All we been talking about, is what we can do to it. Fun talking about.

I completely understand. I really do not like street/urban noise. Also, I bet looking up at the night sky without light pollution is gonna be a treat there...

The other night, the wife and I did dogs over the fire, here at home. We were looking up at Ursa Major, Spica, Arcturus, etc, and were saying we bet that night sky is gonna show up great there.

That's-ah nice-ah! :)
Here, I am almost right under the approach and departure path of an international airport, and Union Pacific tracks are within a mile.
I treasure the very rare overnight fishing trip, being rocked to sleep on the deep, blue, quiet.

Congratulations, W. I know you're gonna have more fun than a barrel of monkeys there.
