Sheesh he's a big pup WW. What's he weigh in at? Hank is a lab and he's only about 45lbs and almost 6 months. What's the breed again?

Just spent a whole day with my father at the ER. This morning his chest was aching so we went to see the doc, who immediately sent us to the ER.
Verdict after a day of waiting and test: atrial fibrillation. Or atleast that's what google translate told me what it was in English. His heart is racing at 150bpm which obviously has several risks. He has to spend the night now while being monitored and tomorrow they'll do some more testing and maybe give him an electric shock.
Hope all will go well and we'll be able to take him home tomorrow.

Damn, G. You are in my thoughts - I hope everything works out.

Smoke and prayers for your families!

This year of crappy luck is almost over

If you believe the Gregorian calendar is the be-all, end-all......the way I see it, the natural end of the year would be the Winter Solstice - we're already in the "new" year - whatever that number may be.

Yes, I'm aware of how that may appear to make me a pagan. So be it. Nobody owns time - and therefore they cannot claim that their enumeration of the calendar is the only way to measure it.

The DJ on the radio was talking about this being a longer than normal year... Besides the standard leap year (Feb 29) making it a day longer, "we" (those in the developed world that obsess about such things) will be adding "leap second" to the last minute of 2016. Soooo, the last minute of the year will be 61 seconds long, making this "year" 366 days and 1 second long.

Not sure of his weight... I'm guessing not much more than 50 pounds though... He doesnt look big to me until he stands up... Then i know where the food is going lol.

He is a cane corso, purebred with full registration, BUT technically he has a longer snout than normal and he is a bit smaller than normal as well. His brothers from the same litter were bigger and had shorter noses... But didn't have his eyes!! Plus he had the lightest fawn color with gray mask...he is almost a cream color instead of the yellow/red color... He was the "prettiest" even if a bit off from breed standard.

Got one yet Biscuit?

We need to play with it if so!

That's nifty!! Who makes it?

That is the BioLite Basecamp. Those are pretty cool. It's alittle stove, grill & charging station. It was especially handy back when the Samsung Note 7's were popular.

He is a good looking pup! I love the fawn color. A local rescue had a fawn pit puppy just a few weeks ago. I wanted to call on her so bad, but it probably wouldn't be the most prudent course of action with a baby due in a little ledd than 2 months. Maybe next year for the kiddo's first Christmas. :D

Indie, our little pit, is right about 15 months old and she's stayed rather small. She's just over 50 lbs. Maybe 53 lbs or so. I imagine that she will get above the 55 lb mark as she fills out more, but we really like the size she's plateaued at. She is short and lean..... Well, aside from the muscle mass in her rear legs, shoulders and chest.

Thanks Jerry!

That's a good size for a pit. Especially a female. My cousin has a "pit" that's 105lbs....absolutely amazing looking dog. Huge head and muscular... Blue.. Gorgeous.. But, Trying to explain to him that he is not a purebred pitbull terrier is pointless... Pits aren't that big.. He is definitely a large bully and likely has pit in him... But 100 pound full blooded pit would be obese as hell and not look amazing LMAO!

Thanks all for your thoughts, smoke and prayers. We're taking my dad home again after two nerve wrecking days of camping at the hospital... The procedure worked and his heart is back to somewhat normal. New diet though, and new meds.

Yea. 60-75 lbs I get, but 105.... not so much. My wife's 10 year old pit up at the in-laws is maybe 57 lbs or so and she's slowed down a bit and chunked up some in her retirement. When she was younger, she was roughly the size indie is now. Just about a perfect size in my book. They both are just compact balls of muscle with overactive tongues.

You might appreciate this one, Woody. My little girl did protect the homestead from "stranger danger" the other evening. She woke me up by licking my face at about 2:30 AM, then went to the foot of the bed and started whining before rip snorting downstairs growling and whining. I trudge down, throw on my shoes and take her out to potty. Unbeknownst to me, a guy had just broke into the neighbors pickup and was in our backyard stuffing his backpack with the loot. I opened the backdoor and she went nuts. I was able to get a hold of the leash before she perforated his rear end. He took off for the tree line and hid. I casually said that be better be gone by the time I get back outside with my light..... He was. It was the next morning when I realized that he actually was going through cars and not just cutting through our backyard to the trails in the woods as I've caught people doing in the past.

Glad to hear it, Gshark.

May have to buy her another collar, she's on the last loop on hers now. 130lbs and holding steady for about a month now.

I will be catching up on this thread later on today, seems like a lot has happened.

But for now, this tidbit was taken from a thread in general chat. Click the blue icon next to his name in the quote to go directly to the post.
Kabar becker bk16
Likes: skeletonized tang
Dislikes: The bk16 and bk14 have the same steel and hardness. These two knives have such different purposes that one of them probably has the wrong steel.
