I contacted ohno505 ohno505 /Mr. Sans Sat. Nov. 25th to ask if he would be interested in trading a hinderer jurassic for his liong mah endevour.
On Tues Nov. 28th he got back to me to let me know that he would be interested and could ship his knife that day.
I replied about a half hour later that I would not be able to ship until the following day on Wed. Nov. 29th.
Mr. Sans replied that because I had so little feedback that he would rather ship after I had supplied tracking for my end of the trade.
Which I thought was acceptable.
We exchanged addresses and I let him know that I would ship tomorrow, Wed Nov. 29th, as previously stated.
Wed. Nov. 29th I contact Mr. Sans to provide a photograph of the package and shipping info including tracking #'s.
He replied right away that he would also ship that day. That was about 9am in the morning.
Before I went to bed that night I send him a message touching base to see if he had a chance to ship his end of the trade.
I send another the following morning, Thurs. Nov. 30th, trying to touch base again.
I get a message about 3:30pm that day that he was on his way to ship the package and apologized for being behind.
I send Mr. sans a message before bed that night to confirm shipping and obtain tracking #'s.
I expressed that I was becoming concerned that he wasn't communicating well with me and I hope he wasn't waiting on my end of the trade to show up before he shipped his end of the deal.
I sent another message the following day Fri. Dec. 1st at 6:30pm asking for shipping confirmation.
On Sat. Dec. 2nd I can see that the hinderer had shown delivered to Mr. Sans.
I send him a message about 3:30pm that day to let him know that I now considered the deal broken due to him not being a man of his word and considered the hinderer stolen unless he contacted me within the next 24hrs.
I expressed to him that I can understand if he was having some kind of emergency but he needed to contact me to let me know that.
I was really hoping this would motivate him to contact me but I still have not received any communication from him since last Thurs. Nov. 30th.
He now has my knife and I have no way of knowing if he has shipped or intends to ship my or his knife to me.

Maybe something will show up in the mail next week but for now I consider Duke Sans a thief and a liar.

Lack of communication always sucks, hopefully you get made whole on this deal. I know this won't help you, but a suggestion for anyone that encounters a problem like this in the future, if you can't get a tracking number out of your trading partner within a couple days of you shipping off your end, it's probably best to call the package back and terminate the trade. You'll be out a few bucks on shipping and the cost of having the package stopped and sent back, but better than losing whatever you were trading.

it is possible to get the package turned back if it hasn't already been delivered. I had a trade a couple years ago go bad when I received a knife that wasn't as described. We shipped at the same time and luckily his showed up first as he was adamant that he would not change the deal..... even went so far as to threaten to call the postal inspector on me(I used a USPS service to turn the package around lol). I was able to contact the USPS and have the package rerouted with no guarantee( for a fee). I got it back and as soon as I received it back... I sent the other knife back to the original owner.

that being said. You truly never know what is going on in the life of the other individual. give it a couple days, and hopefully it works itself out. Lack of communication SUCKS

I think that you got yourself mixed up with a very complicated and controlling person. I hope that he stops being so elusive, and actually starts to communicate with you. Perhaps he fancy’s himself as being too important, to give preference to your concerns.

interesting, I just completed a transaction with him last week. It went smoothly, hopefully he shows up here and clears this up.

I just don’t get it why not look at a sellers post areas? If all they do is sell here they have no tie to the forums other then to make money. So if the seller burns you it’s no skin off their back to get booted because they are using other sites or wait a few weeks until they buy a new membership here to do it agian. Someone that just posts in the selling form isn’t here to give deals or come out on the bottom of a deal they have a agenda to profit thru funds or trades or theft.
 
Most if what the OP wrote is true.
I asked to have the knife shipped first as the OP is fairly new.
Tracking shows delivered.
Terrific.
I'll ship right back as soon as I get to NM. As well leave feedback. I'll make sure to provide a copy if the tracking number to this thread.

I do not think it is fair when people make blanket statements like that. Just because someone does not post in numerous areas here, does not mean they can't be trusted, have a secret agenda, etc.
Some folks may be members here to mainly buy or sell - what is really wrong with that? Don't think it makes them bad people. Perhaps they just don't want to get caught up in some of the drama that goes on, maybe a busy person, etc. They pay a membership and that is a good thing - they can participate in whatever they want or don't want here. There is always bad apples in everything - but don't let the bad apples spoil the bunch.
 
I went to go look at his posts but I can't see any of them because he is already on ignore.

Folks need to search a user name here before they do a transaction, especially a trade.
 
I paid this clown $150 for a Protech Dark Angel on 11/28/2017. He claimed he was on the way to the post office last Thursday and would provide tracking. I emailed him 3 different times with no response until finally yesterday evening. He wrote to me that he “provided tracking on the forum, looks like Thursday” (for delivery). Yeah, he has not sent me anything.

The next email he asked me if I wanted a refund. I said yes because I was sick of this dude not responding. He then tells me file a claim with Paypal. What????

The latest email from him has told me “he knew better than to sell to someone too cheap to buy a membership and not to contact him again”.

Funny, I have never had a complaint before.

He has still not provided proof of shipping my knife.

It's been said many times by the moderation staff that it should send up a little red flag.

Not having anything other than a financial commitment to this community means the consequence of banning isn't an effective motivation to not go off the rails and start scamming.

Participating, making friends, and contributing is what makes this place important beyond buying and selling.

ndmiller took a quote from, I presume, the thread I am quoting above before you edited it. That partial quote says, "I haven't received the Hinderer." But in your edited version, you say you will ship the knife back when you get to NM. So which is it? You received the knife or not?
