Is that white stuff all over your sheath the silk from that spider or is it something that came out of you after you saw that spider sitting next to your TTO-4?

I have been using this kit as a last ditch kit. My RC-3 with sheath and boot clip fit well in the bag. The bag has belt loops on the back so you can attach it. Bag contents: 100ft para chord, firesteel, peanut lighter, tweezers, small light, button compass, military compressed trioxane, 3 jigs with fishing line and bandaids in clear hard case, diamond sharpering stone, signal mirror, matches and sling shot rubber band. Not saying it is the best but it has worked for me. Always up for new ideas or ways to imporve. The best part is I can have my RAT knife with me all the time. The kit is about the same size as a 32 oz nalgene bottle.

We've got plenty of them too. Photo contests, monthly giveaways, etc. and you don't have to own a RAT knife in those contests to win one ;)

I'll check back when this comes around as well. Don't yet own a RAT, though I'd like to. I have a kit that'd meet the requirements minus specific knife!

This is what I came up with in the past few days. This whole thing is swung over my neck, and the pack will go on my back while the knife is on my side. It's actually quite comfortable to carry. I got: rope, flexible led light, cotton balls in the tin, paper clip, firesteel, DOAN magnesium, Blast multi-tool, some bandages, wipes, lighter, matches, plastic bag, and a party balloon horn.

I am thinking a lot on getting some space blankets, and a better compass. There is still lots of room, so let me know if I should add anything.

That's a pretty good looking kit and I like the fact that it attaches to the pack or comes off and goes directly on the person.

Hello!

Here is my survival kit. It`s quite a large "kit" but this is what I carry when i`m out in the woods/mountains. If i`m so far out in the wilderness that I actually need to depend on myself and my gear I like to be prepared. And thats really the basic rule for surviving kit or no kit...

I dont own a RAT and im not trying to sneak into the contest, thought I just post a kit from over the seas, up north. Though I have put in my mock-up RC-3 and RC-4 to show my intentions:D Maybe got some diffrent items to add also...

Items:

- Jerven Thermo Kingsize Mountain Bag
- Small waterproof bag
- Medium size waterproof bag
- Fishline and hooks
- Gluestick (for glueguns)
- Lighter
- Firesteel
- Leatherman
- Victorinox (with altimeter)
- Tin-can
- The mock-ups:P
- Current knife

Gluestick used in glueguns, just heat up with a lighter or on the fire:thumbup:

Collapsible saw, with three blades (metal, meet/bone, wood), easy to carry and gives you a saw that actually work compared to the one hand models.

Jerven Thermo Kingsize Mountainbag, borrowd this picture from their website. Probaly my most important item. Wind and waterproff. Keeps +15C (59F) inside in strong winds and -15C (5F) cold weather. Can also be used as shelter, tent, sleepingbag, groundsheet, pillow or poncho.

The waterproof bags are used for storage. The small one is my firebag witch contains the lighter, firesteel, victorinox and som dry birch bark. This one is ventilated. The other important items are stored in the larger bag witch are not ventilated and can be used as a pillow.

Thanks!

Yeah, I love Jerven! They have alot of other nice bags and systems also and the bag is actually insulated on the inside, witch keeps the condensation away. 10 years warrenty and even standard equipment for the norwegian military....

Do they sell them in the US? Here is a link to their website www.jerven.no , theres a english PDF on the top there. Just let me know if you need any help with anything!

Edit: Try www.jerven.com
