Thanks!

Yeah, I love Jerven! They have alot of other nice bags and systems also and the bag is actually insulated on the inside, witch keeps the condensation away. 10 years warrenty and even standard equipment for the norwegian military....

Do they sell them in the US? Here is a link to their website www.jerven.no , theres a english PDF on the top there. Just let me know if you need any help with anything!

Edit: Try www.jerven.com

Damn it Tony.
That's nearly identical to my friggin kit.
Except, dump the scrade for a SAK Rucksak, vic multi tool for a Gerber 600.
I have most of the contents of the AMK PSK, a heatsheet. No prefilter, coffee filters instead.
Also took a Maglite Mini maglite LED flashlight, put a split ring through the lanyard loop and dummy corded it to the bottle carrier with blaze orange paracord, it rides stuffed into the MOLLE loops.

Great minds thing alike ?:D Post a Pic...Dude the Schrade is Badass...97OT (USA) and my SAK hiker is in my pocket which will soon to be swapped out with the PE OHT inbound ! I am still not done I have another Max. M1 pouch inboud to add to it,to holder digital camera/cell phone/wallet:thumbup:

Is that an 'extender' on the top of the Nalgene bottle for storage?

Where would I find something like that?

Here's my go everywhere with me survival/first aid kit its real basic.understand
this goes on my belt or in my cargo pocket.I have the rest of my gear, water filter,
bigger first aid kit,emergency shelter,compass,gps,notebook,fisher space pen,harmonica,
bug repellent,fireboard-spindle-handhold(i broke the bow 2 weeks ago),weather dependent
clothing,canteen cup,alcohol stove,nalgene bottle and yes a hand axe(pacific northwest).
On me i always have my RC-4,large Sebenza,SAK soldier,Benchmade sharpener,
SOG multi tool.Do to me being in the Army National Guard I made this kit to be
able to go from my fishing/hiking vest or pack to my LBE/LBV.I've always felt that a kit should
be small enough to be with you always.(kinda like Yoda) but
have the required items to tackle many different problems.

Real nice kit! If that's the same Fluke light as I have then it's a damn good survival kit idea since it has a non-contact voltage tester. I could see where this could be real useful in some survival scenarios. Out of the box thinking on that one.

Yes that's the one.I'm an electrician in my real life and a Bradley Commander
in the Oregon National guard.I've run into several occasions where i've needed
it.Can someone come up with five uses for my beeswax lip balm?

well I imagine you could use it for a lube on the spindle of a bow drill, for chapped hands or lips,to coat cordage ,to make an emergency candle, waterproof some things such as shoes, coat tinder to help it burn hotter longer, maybe apply it to your face along with dirt as natural camo , and probably a lot of other things.Even eat it if you are hungry enough LOL

This is a really helpful thread for me, to see what other people are packing on hikes, camping outings, etc. - I plan on making mine around my Izula, and when it comes I'll be sure to post some pictures of it.

That's an added benefit to this thread to me is to see what is being used out there for kits.

I also get new and fresh ideas to add to my kit or change things up.having said that I've had that same core survival bag for 8-10 years now.knives change
and the backpacks change but my main kit is the same.I'm glad to see everyone sharing their experience and knowledge.

Thanks man,It's nice to get feedback from similar minded folks
concerning survival kits.:D

I changed my kit a little, mainly because I usually carry a water bottle with me and the only place to put it was in my pockets :thumbdn:. So I switched to this little bag I bought back from a flea market in Hong Kong. It's got 4 compartments, the whistle and wipes go in the first, the fire making, bandages, rope, and sharpener goes in the second, water bottle in the third, and the knife in the fourth. There are also side pockets for the multi tool.

lemme know what you guys think

Taurn I like this kit. The use of simple ziplock plastic bags is good. Too many pouches and extra compartments add extra weigh and bulk. The Aquafina water bottle has a wide mouth and is lighter than any Nalgene out there.

Thanks RB, I usually carry this bottle or a gatorade bottle, both fits in the bag. I haven't gotten around to buying any nalgene bottles, but I do have a small Camelbak...... it needs to be cleaned.:o

Taurn,

kit looks good,do you rotate your water in the bottle or do you buy a new one
each time you go out.how often do you change the water?whats in the ziplock on the right i see a bic,and i think bandages?

Tyrantblade

hey tyrant, I re-use the water bottle for a good while, filling it with tap water when it's gone. I don't leave the water in the bottle for a long time, I only fill it up when I go out. In the ziplock bag is a lighter, matches, bandages, and a party balloon horn. It was what I got at the time and didn't have the whistle. :)
