Ok, take the Hinderer(s) out of your "pocket" and show them.

Hi guys - being a relative noob to the Hinderer knives, I finally took the plunge and found an XM18 3" slicer flipper. Must say I love the knife. It quickly moved to the head of the class. And I already have another inbound, but not a flipper. So as mine was used but new, there isn't much wear on it yet. Maybe a 3.5 next for when I want to go large. :)

Incidentally - does someone have a standard filler tab they might want to sell?

Hopefully, the other forum member won't object to me lifting his photo, but it is strictly for my info only. What model and finish is on that left one. That Ti looks bad ass dude. Awesome.

Keep your eye on the exchange for a filler tab or email Rob Orlando. Looks like a working finish xm-24 spanto with a bronze anodized frame. Just an educated guess. :) congrats on the XMs.

My 24 is unique in a few ways.

It's blade is stonewashed but it's matte...it's not sandblasted...but may have been both media blasted and tumbled...it's a 2011 Bladeshow score w/ anodized bronze Ti lockside and liner.

I later installed Bronze anodized Textured Ti to replace the G10 and liner. Also added plain Ti standoffs. And the two-tone Ti bead.

Every item on it is rare(ish). But to have the look it has...it's been a user since first-day I got it. Had it out in Hooters after scoring it in ATL and nobody cared as I showed it to others at my table and beyond. Even local police enjoyed seeing it at the restaurant. That's the last time it was minty fresh...she's seen some good n bad times since and still going strong.

It is a very cool and unique knife N2K. You put alot of thought into that knife and it shows. I really like the finish on the blade!

No kiddin' Need2know - awesome knife. If you're getting tight on storage room, I'll be happy to hold it for you.

:p;)

Never.

I'd be pennyless, toothless, and wearing rags while living in a soggy cardboard box and still have this 24 with me.

I find it difficult to really capture the utter coolness of the textured CF scale. I think this pic shows it pretty well. If you have the chance, pick up a textured CF scale, they look better in person!

Evidently I don't pay enough attention to pictures- somehow I'd missed that 24 of yours N2k. Absolutely Insanely gorgeous. Thanks for bringing it up Joe. Who knows how long I would have gone without coveting another of his awesome toys?

Anyway, I sort of cheated here. I should have taken the picture before I cleaned it up, but wasn't thinking. I had to put a clean edge and re-treat with aegis solutions tonight. I temporarily lost my investigator earlier and decided it would be best for me to take out some annoyance doing something practical- feeding cows before everything freezes tomorrow. I cut through a lot of hay and wrappers (hell on edges for anyone who has never done it), stabbed it in the back of bales for temporary storage, and cut open feed sacks; and at the end of the day it would still shave. Not as nicely as before (hence the touchup work) but still shaving sharp. Here she is after her refreshing.

Oh also thanks N2K- my photos seem to suck a little less with your tips on lighting!

EDIT
knife guy problems: hair on keyboard from testing sharpness

Glad the simple lighting suggestion is paying off.

Now about my 24...I have to thank all who are posting favorably about it and all who have commented on it over time...but here's why it's not a typical thanks for reassuring my choice type of thank you.

This 24 gets more inquires than any other knife I own, many say they'd like it (or pieces of it :D) to be their own. That's not the cool part...unlike most things so many want to buy in the knife world, this thing is used...very used...obvious signs of use everywhere....but you guys still inquire. That's the cool part.

Absolutely true. There are those folks who wear distressed jeans to look cool, and there are those who work their jeans into distressed that are cool. The latter always wins and that 24 is an excellent example.

NJ great analogy! N2 K has been treating us for a awhile of that beast, very meticulously laid our well done.

Yeah - I asked Rob if any filler tabs or standard clips were available and he said no. Didn't seem to have a timeframe. Just said to watch the site. Hinderer must be one popular series. Seems as soon as parts come out, they're gone. Thought about having a pimper make me one, can't be that hard, but then I'd be without my knife. Not ready for that. Separation anxiety and all that. Knife has one of those skull tabs in it at the moment. Have mixed feelings about it. Rather it was one of the horse ones instead. Maybe I'll run across someone who'd like to trade. Dunno.

^^ I'm sure if you wanted to trade for a normal filler tab you wouldn't have any lack of takers..

Nice BW, abstract in a way, but after finding a cat, a dog, a hand, the horse head jumped out at me ( no pun intended).

My antique hitching post in my front yard.
