Nice to see that soddie Jack! I almost put ole yeller in my pocket, but I ended up with these two, which hadn't been carried in awhile.
The blue was a gift fron the inlaws and my first Case. The 6375 needed some TLC. This morning; I touched up the blades, washed in some hot water, silver polished the bolsters and bone, washed again, dryed, oiled in mineral oil... then in my overalls it went.

This thread inspired me to go looking for an old friend that I haven't seen in a couple of years. I wasn't sure I still had it...might have lost it. It made me sad to think about it being gone. There's probably never going to be another run of these.
But in the pocket of an old, unused briefcase, in the back of a closet, I found my old friend.
I'm glad to get reacquainted with this old friend. We just needed a nudge from this thread to get us back together.![]()
Robey and Facey!
I have always admired Robeson's regular Barlows for their pocket-friendliness.
I bought this one at a gun show over 20 years ago, and carried it when I was still building houses and doing renovations. Robeson rounded everything off, and did semi-sunk joints. You knew it was in your jeans, but you, and it, were happy it was there!
This old friend will accompany me to the Museum of Anthropology today to get an opinion on Little Facey (in the pic) to see if the art dealers are right about its origins!

With all my excitement surrounding shiny new barlows, I let this old guy fall by the wayside. A perfect day to correct that.
No time for glamor shots today, but it deserves a thoughtful photo shoot soon.

I remembered it being all scratched up, but it actually looks almost pristine.

If I were ever to have a WLST, it would be one just like that.
I keep seeing folks talking about the WLST. What does it stand for?
...what does WLST stand for? Seen it used a couple of times in this thread and can't figure it out.

All royalties go to Pertinux who has the registered trademark.![]()
Yes! It all started in Charlie Campagna's estimable thread, What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?, in which he presented scans of his traditional barlows of yore and then slowly but surely unveiled the on-going development of what would become the #15 TC Barlows.
When it was clear that new, 3.5" barlows were indeed the pipeline, puukkoman did say, and I quote:
I'm really looking forward to these, too. It's exciting to see GEC produce a REAL barlow, instead of that weird little stubby thing they've been making.
And off we went! So, Alex/puukkoman gets original credit, but as pmew notes, I jumped on the trademark right away. To whit:
Of these Weird Little Stubby Things®, I'm going with the one in the middle.

Jack, the handles on this knife are gorgeous!!:thumbup: Maybe not as moving as that ox horn you have, but spectacular nonetheless!
Jack, I love your beautiful old knives and great threads.
Thanks for the words, Jack! Much appreciated!
It honors me, my friend.
