I think we've all done things like that, at some point, which we later regret Jer![]()
This was a pretty early acquisition. Too bad I took off the swing guard, but I thought it silly and it rattled.
I might still have the pieces somewhere.
That's a nice knife to hang onto JeffThis was the first primo pocket knife I ever bought, after decades of cheapo imports. I'd had several decent fixed blades, being a hunter, but never had a really nice pocket knife. The dramatically pointy spear blade and deep, random jigging were my gateway drug into the world of GEC. And, with all my buying and selling, I still own it.

Thanks buddyThanks, Jack, it's nice to see RALF's brother in action!
Hi James, thanks a lot my friendHey! Welcome back Jack, I trust you had a good trip.
Talk about Old Friends, here's is an exact duplicate of the first knife I bought for myself, back about 60 years ago. Found it for sale on the WWW and couldn't resist. Glad I didn't... resist that is, it turns out it was a good choice then and still is today. I'll save you the critique and just say, it's a very satisfying little Barlow.

If it looks familiar it may be because it was posted in a "Multi-tool" thread last Sunday when I decided it would be posted here today. I've enjoyed it all this week probably even more than I enjoyed the original way back when.
Thanks James, sorry about the linkThanks Jack. Cool that you are familiar with the Sabre Barlow.
BTW the link to your Bulgaria pics didn't work but I did find some using BF search. Thanks for posting. It reminds me of how I love to travel and also how much more I enjoy coming home... after experiencing a few "bent $9 bills".![]()
Thanks James, it was a lovely hotel, with great views - on the sea side of the hotel anyway, I'm not sure about the other direction!Jack Black - Link works fine now. Only pics I'd missed were of the hotel and grounds. Looks like a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Having the Black Sea mostly to yourself is a big plus in my book. Thanks again for sharing your holiday with us.
